It is good for a leader to have competence is good communication as an emotional strength

because those in employment need to understand well the tasks given to them. It is good to be

able to communicate well even when angry with someone.

2. Explain at least 2 signs of stress and own emotional.

i. General unhappiness or depression – stressed people will look depressed and

unhappy. Can easily be noticed because they tend to be less talkative.

ii. Isolation and loneliness – people with own emotional or stressed will always

lock themselves up or stay in isolated and lonely places.

3. Why is it important to develop awareness of your own emotional triggers in the

workplace?

Developing awareness of your own emotional triggers in awareness is very important because

it makes it easy to master and control emotional weaknesses. It is very important to know

how to respond to triggers. Being capable of controlling your own emotional triggers makes

it possible to read and respect other people’s emotional triggers and creates a good co-

existence atmosphere in workplaces.

4. List 2 constructive behaviours that a manager should model in the workplace.

i. Respect, compassion and understanding - a manager should make sure that

employees have a good relationship based on respect to create a good mood in

a workplace.

ii. Honest and open communication – when there is honest and open

communication there is a build-up of trust and encourages productive

unsupervised team.

i. Self-awareness – self- awareness offers the ability to master your own emotions when

they arise and avoid being carried away by them. Being aware helps to realize when

emotions are happening and prepare enough to address them with a lot of balance and

thoughtfulness.

ii. Adaptability – as things change in life, frustrations come and so it is good to be

adaptable enough so as to know to cope with changing circumstances or people by

maintaining our emotional triggers so as to avoid frustration. A leader must be ready

to adapt to change in situations in a workplace.

6. Describe 2 sources of a negative emotional state in the workplace.

i. Frustration – frustration is a huge source of anger, frustrations from fellow

workmates can cause irritational behaviour, for instance, threatening,

explosive outbursts and even causing people to quit their jobs. manage anger

which is one of the common negative emotion it is good to minimise

frustrations by promoting respect.

ii. Another source of negative emotional state is interpersonal conflicts with

fellow workers and bosses. Conflicts which creates negative emotions like

anger and fear is unfair treatments from bosses and workers. Sometimes it can

be a mentally that others are treated better than you do and it is good to avoid

interpersonal conflicts created by bad thoughts so as to fight negative

emotions.

7. Explain how to communicate with a diverse workforce which has varying cultural

expressions of emotion. You need to provide at least 2 ways to communicate with a

diverse workforce.

Firstly, to communicate better with a diverse workforce with different cultural expression of

emotions it is good to understand their cultural backgrounds so as to know what to say and

not to say to avoid creating negative emotions to them. Two ways to communicate with

diverse workforce includes; keep an open mind and practice active listening. It is good to

make sure that you always maintain a personal touch and watch on the nonverbal

communication to know all the no-go zones.

8. Describe 2 ways of demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in dealing with others

during a time of organisational change.

i. Thinking actively - to be flexible and adaptable when dealing with others

during organizational change people should foster creativity and adopt new

and better ways of accomplishing work goals with a new mindset. With old

ways flexibility and adaptability is decreased and there is resistance to change.

ii. Exercising Emotional intelligence – self-management skills are good because

being able to filter and control emotions means that one is capable of being

adaptable and flexible. Controlling emotions makes it easy to adapt when

working with new teams and creating a better rapport with fellow colleagues.

9. It is important to take the emotions of others into account when making decisions.

Explain why.

It is very important to consider the emotions of other people when making decisions because

emotions of others affects our anxiety and also can interfere with our own emotions. Anxiety

makes us to make poor choices and creates boredom which can interfere with passion. To

makes good and balanced choices and acknowledge your own emotions it is very important

to consider the emotions of other people.

10. Describe the relationship between emotionally effective people and the attainment of

business objectives.

People who are emotionally effective are more committed than others because when they

make goals, they are more attached to them. They make a company to be more engaged and

provide motivation to others which brings attainment of business objective. Emotionally

effective people use the awareness of their emotions to manage the emotions of others and

their interactions.

11. Why is it important to assist others to understand the effect of their behaviour and

emotions on others in the workplace and develop the self-management of emotions in

others?

Helping to understand the effect of their emotions and behaviour in a workplace makes them

express their own thoughts and share many other things outside the work life schedules.

Helping motivates them to be happier and more motivated. Teaching them on how to control

the emotions makes workplace to be more professional and achievement of objectives easy.

12. Describe how to encourage others to develop their own emotional intelligence to

build productive relationships and maximize workplace outcomes.

Teaching other to embrace their emotions and meditate is way which can be used to

encourage others to develop personal emotional intelligence so as to create good relationship

in workplace. Meditating makes one learn how to control things like anxiety, anger and

happiness so as not to affect others and maintain the good existing relationship.

13. Why is it important to encourage a positive emotional climate in the workplace?

Encouraging a positive emotional climate in a workplace is good thing because it helps

people to have the capability of coming up with new ideas, be innovative, grow problem

solving tactics and make a work place to be more efficient. Positive emotional climate makes

people to have the capability to control their emotions and to be more concerned on how they

affect others.
