ELECTRICAL COURSE

WEEK 1: ELECTRICAL SAFETY

WEEK 2: ELECTRICAL TOOLS & EQUIPMENT OPERATION

WEEK 3: ELECTRICAL PANELS, BREAKERS, AND SWITCHES

WEEK 4: INDOOR AND OUTDOOR LIGHTING, SWITCHES, AND FANS

WEEK 5: HOME AND OFFICE RE-WIRING

WEEK 6: GENERATOR INSTALLATION

WEEK 7: RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL ELECTRICAL ESTIMATING


SCHEDULE

Classes are normally held Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:00pm – 8:00pm however make sure to
check your company e-mail for notifications concerning the weekly course schedule.

Tuesday evening is a Plumbing course and Thursday alternates between Electrical and HVAC courses.

To get a Frank Gay Trade University certificate and graduate in your selected trade you must complete
70 credits of classroom and hands-on training by attending and participating in 5 classes for each topic
listed above. Any Frank Gay Services employee may also sit in classes and be cross-trained into other
trades without seeking a certificate. We encourage each and every employee to participate and broaden
your spectrum of knowledge and skill-level.

Occasionally we will bring in Guest Speakers and Brand Reps to demonstrate how to diagnosis, repair,
and install the newest equipment and train you to increase your sales and customer satisfaction.

ADDITIONAL COURSE TOPICS

Disconnect / Reconnect Appliances connected to Low Voltage

Course Category: Wiring Installation – Cross-Training

(Disconnect/reconnect composite appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring (addresses air conditioners)

(Disconnect/reconnect water heaters connected to low voltage installation wiring)

(Disconnect/reconnect motors connected to low voltage installation wiring) Participants may select two units.

Recommended for plumbers required to carry out electrical work on appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring.
It covers the skills and knowledge required to safely isolate and disconnect electrical appliances then reconnect and test
appliances.

Jobsite Machinery Safety

This alternating course will cover how to operate and work safely with machinery on job sites. We will cover safety
precautions spotting and directing machinery. As well as proper use of such equipment.

Safe Work on Roofs

This alternating course is designed to provide participants with knowledge and skills to enable them to work safely on
roofs for a variety of jobs. This course will cover tethering, working on ladders safely, and much more.
Operate Elevating Work Platform (Scissor Lift)

This alternating course will address all aspects of scissor lift and vertical lift operations which is widely used in the
Electrical field. This will cover operation, functions, safety, and proper use of Scissor Lifts.
