Problem Statement

Project Title: Business Model Strategizing

Company Details:
• Company name: Uolo
• About the company: Uolo is a learning & communication platform to help schools deliver continuous
learning experiences in the K-12 student segment. Uolo currently works with 10 lakh+ students in 5000+
schools across 200+ cities in India providing an easy way to manage various aspects of student-school
communication and aid in continuous teaching beyond classroom.
• Company Website: https://www.theuolo.com/

Project Background:
Uolo currently works in the B2B segment, catering to 5000+ schools, providing them an easy way to manage
student-school communication through their free-of-cost ed-tech platform, in the following manner:
• Allows sending messages, sharing class materials, and making learning content accessible anywhere
• Provides all the necessary tools a school would ever need from managing student fees, online fee
collection, student attendance to marking student grades etc
• Provide tools and resources to teachers to help them teach better in classrooms

Given the background, Uolo intends to launch and successfully monetize a B2C ed-tech platform, primarily
focusing on upskilling the K-12 students in co-curricular activities, by leveraging the existing B2B collaborations
with schools.

Project Scope / Key Deliverables:

• Benchmarking: Study the existing major players in the B2C Ed-tech domain (list of at least top 10) and
analyse the following
○ Their target customer segment (from within the K-12 student category)
○ Their key product offerings
○ The Delivery model adopted by them to serve their target customer segment
• Strategizing: Based on the benchmarking analysis, develop a go-to-market strategy consisting of the
following
○ Identify the customer segment (within the K-12 student category) which the client should target
○ Develop a unique value proposition and suggest a suitable product offering (focusing on upskilling
through tech-enabled co-curricular activities) by performing a need-gap analysis for the target
customer segment
○ Strategize a suitable mix of delivery model that would govern the mode, medium and format of
product delivery to the students
