1. Which is not an objective of the regulations of the academic regime of the

Technical University of Manabí, according to article 3.
a) To guarantee a quality education that promotes the excellence and relevance of the
higher education system.
b) Approve the draft reforms to the Academic Regulations and submit it to the Plenary
of the ESC for its knowledge and resolution, in first debate.
c) To regulate the academic-formative management of the levels and modalities of
learning offered by UTM.
d) Promote the diversity, comprehensiveness and flexibility of academic itineraries that
enable learning and the acquisition of socio-professional experience in the
educational subjects.

1. What is the correct definition of Qualitative Research?

a) Is one which provides insights and understanding of the problem setting. It is an
unstructured, exploratory research method that studies highly complex phenomena
that are impossible to elucidate with the quantitative research.
b) Research is a form of research that relies on the methods of natural sciences, which
produces numerical data and hard facts. It aims at establishing cause and effect
relationship between two variables by using mathematical, computational and
statistical methods.
c) It is the physical space of an institution of higher education in which its academic
offerings and management activities are carried out. A head office, branch or
extension may have several campuses within the province in which they are
established.
d) By their nature, may plan their ordinary and extraordinary academic periods
autonomously according to their needs and characteristics.
