MinInion

Materials:
• DK yarn in yellow, blue, black, and grey
• 3mm and 2.5mm hook
• 6mm safety or googly eyes
• Stitch markers
• Stuffing
• Scissors
• Sewing needle

Abbreviations:
MR = magic ring
CH = chain
SLST = slip stitch
SC = single crochet (US), double crochet (UK)
HDC = half double crochet (US), half treble crochet (UK)
DC = double crochet (US), treble crochet (UK)
LDC = linked double crochet (see below)
INC = increase – two stitches in the next stitch
DEC = invisible decrease

Notes:
• This pattern is worked in the round. Don't join or turn work unless instructed.
• For my MinInion arms, I changed colours on the SLST. Put the hook through the stitch, yarn
over with the new colour, pull through all loops on the hook.
• This pattern is small and fiddly. Prepare to curse at it.

Linked Double Crochet:

1. Make a DC as usual in the next stitch.

2. For the next stitch, put the hook through this post loop:

3. Yarn over and pull up a loop.

4. Hook through the next stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop.

5. Yarn over, and pull through two loops.

6. Yarn over and pull through remaining two loops.

7. Repeat from step 2 for the remaining LDCs.

Pattern:

GOGGLE
With 2.5mm hook and grey yarn
Round 1: make a mr and ch1 (not a stitch) 8hdc in the mr
Close the mr and slst into blo of the first hdc made and turn
Round 2: ch1, [sc in flo] around
slst in first stitch and fo leaving a long sewing tail
If you're using a safety eye, push the shank through the middle of the google.

BODY
With 3mm hook and yellow yarn
Round 1: make 6sc in a mr
Round 2: [inc] around (12)
Round 3: [sc, inc] around (18)
Rounds 4-9: sc around
Round 10: 7sc, ch4, skip 4 stitches, 7sc (14sc + 4ch)

Round 11: 7sc, in blue yarn 4ldc in blo of missed stitches from round 10, in yellow yarn 7sc (14sc,
4ldc)

Round 12: in blue yarn blo 7sc, in both loops 4sc, in blo 7sc (18)
If using a safety eye, place now between rounds 6 and 7, centred over the ldc stitches
Rounds 13-14: sc around (18)
Round 15: [dec, sc] around (12)
Start stuffing
Round 16: [dec] around (6)
fo, finish stuffing, and close hole

ARMS
With 2.5mm hook and black yarn

GOGGLE STRAP
With 2.5mm hook and black yarn
Leave a long starting tail and ch until long enough to circle the head from one side of the google to
the other.

DUNGAREE STRAPS
With 2.5mm hook and blue yarn
Leave a long staring tail and ch until long enough to reach from the top of the dungarees, over the
arm, and to the back of the body.

ASSEMBLY
Sew the google to the body. Sew the arms to the side of the body, about level with the very top of
the dungarees. Sew on the feet. Secure the goggle strap around the head, and the dungaree straps
to the body.

HAIR
Using either a hook or a sewing needle, pull up a loop of yarn through a stitch on the top of the
head. Pull the loose ends through the loop and tighten. Cut to right length.
