The Sphinx (British Columbia)
The Sphinx (British Columbia)
Climate
Based on the Köppen climate classification, The Sphinx is
located in a marine west coast climate zone of western
North America.[1] Most weather fronts originate in the
Pacific Ocean, and travel east toward the Coast Mountains
where they are forced upward by the range (Orographic lift),
causing them to drop their moisture in the form of rain or The Sphinx in July 2001
snowfall. As a result, the Coast Mountains experience high
precipitation, especially during the winter months in the Highest point
form of snowfall. Temperatures can drop below −20 °C with Elevation 2,402 m (7,881 ft)
wind chill factors below −30 °C. Prominence 212 m (696 ft)
