About the project

Sugar daddy awareness classes is a caution filled project that lights a fire in the souls of
adolescent school girls through surfacing the dangers of having sex with old men for whatever
reasons. The target population is girls aged 10-18 years in primary and secondary schools in
Uganda. We hold awareness sessions at schools upon consent with the administrators and
caution the young girls to stop the practice. We empower them to make informed sex decisions
and ultimately educate them about their right to say NO to sexual demands.
The problem
About 20000 adolescent girls were registered pregnant in the recent school closures following
the outbreak of the epizootic. Old men aka sugar daddies” claim the biggest share of the blame to
these figures. This however just exacerbated the vice, prior to the school closures, old men used
to sleep with young girls though numbers were less compared to what’s at hand. Adolescent girls
have proved the world that they are sexperts at a tender age, this however is not worth
celebrating because their generation seems to be on its road to the grave yard. The subsequent
result of this is a wasted generation where overpopulation, high levels of HIV/AIDS, single
parenthood, and all mediocre situations will flourish. Adolescent girls find it fitting to sleep with
men fit to be their fathers, their male agemates also find older women attractive and end up
sleeping with them.
Justification of the need for the project
Sugar daddies or whatever you wish to call those sex scavengers take a biggest percentage of the
sky rocketing numbers of teenage pregnancies and early marriages in Uganda today. The ugly
truth is, the number of times they have had sex exceeds the ages of the girls they sleep with, they
have sex with girls fit enough to be their daughters, they have had multiple sex partners so
associating in sexual matters with them exposes the naive girls to lots of risks. A recent research
carried out by NTV-Uganda a trusted media house in Uganda, during the recent school closures,
NTV-Uganda discovered that men of 45-59 years relentlessly have sex with girls between the
ages of 15-24, of these men, 16% are HIV positive. A statement by Evelyn Letiyu, a program
specialist at UN-Women (Uganda office) states, It was further discovered that the number of
girls aged 15-19 in marriage in 2021 is greater than the number of registered marriages in
Uganda, further on this, around 15% of these girls are either 2 nd, 3rd, or 4th wives. This accounts
to around 18000 teenage pregnancies during the recent lock down and school closures. If we fold
hands and look on, the generation ahead of this will be messy and ultimately, ultra-poverty will
boast with swag in communities. Relief partners Uganda decided to openly castigate this vice,
this solely explains the motive behind this project
Objectives
Overall objective
To openly castigate and condemn sex relationships between young girls and old men aka Sugar
Daddies and ultimately reduce cross generational sex.
Specific objectives
To empower 200000 young girls in Mubende district by 2023 so that they develop the audacity
to make informed sex decisions thus avoiding early pregnancies.
To caution 100000 adolescent girls in schools in Mubende district about the dangers associated
with sex with men fit to be their fathers by 2023
To disinterest 5 million young girls from sugar daddies through social media, entertainment and
outreaches by 2023
Implementation plan
Community/ school set up
We hold regular informative classes with adolescent girls in communities at village level and in
school set ups. We openly talk the nitty gritty about sex in its entirety, clearly telling them the
effects of having sex at a tender age and above all, having it with sugar daddies. In a school set
up, the speakers deliver presentations on scheduled dates and time, network with the auditorium,
we attend any ancillary events – such as co-curricular activities and ceremonies. We discuss
specific on-site expectations during pre-event planning call(s).
Social media influence
The cyber space is a limitless, and fast paced avenue well known for spreading messages across
the globe with a lot of ease. Targeted audiences conveniently access the messages wherever they
are whether busy or not. We partner with social media influencers and largely followed people
and celebrities to spread the message.
Outcomes

Our therapies invigorate students to develop a positive personality and drop the habits that make
them succumb to sex traps. They develop the resilience to say NO because of the hope instilled
in them.
