INTRODUCTION

As the time goes by, many people nowadays are using commercial pens. Mosts of the users are one’s
who have jobs which includes paper works. Nowadays, we cannot change the fact that commercial pens
are on high demands, but ofcourse we cannot also change the fact that commercial pens have many
flaws. Example these flaws are; they have tendency to leak and if you press down too hard when you
write, it’s easy to push holes into your paper and lastly statering ballpens are common occurrence.

We all know that pen is the traditional equipment mostly used in writing even in these days many
people are still using a pen and as the time goes by, the ink of the pen are now gradually decreasing its
quality. Due to the problem, many researchers are now searching for a solution and one of the solution
is to use a banana peel as an alternative ink

The ink can flow unevenly, the ink is so slow to dry. When it does accidentally dry in the pen, the ink
comes in the whole thing up and requires meticulous cleaning.

Banana peel called banana skin in British English, is the outer covering of the banana fruit. Banana peels
are used as food for animals, an ingredient in cooking, in water purification, for manufacturing of several
biochemical products as well as for jokes and comical situations.

Banana peels are packed with polyphenols, carotenoids and other antioxidants that fight cancer-causing
free radicals in your body. Eating more banana peels, especially green, unripe peels can increase your
antioxidant levels and help reduces your risk of cancer.

This study is created to produce an alternative ink to solve the problems regarding a normal ink.

Experimental Research Design

Hypothesis draft:

Banana peel is effective as an ink.

Independent variable:

Temperature,humidity,location.

Background Questions:

*What types of banana would be the best to use?

*What maturity of the banana would be the best to use to produce the ink.

Dependent variable(quantitative)
No. of days it lasts on the paper.

Constant:

*All the banana that will be used in the study will recieve equal temperature.

*All the Banana that will be used in the study are grown from the same location.

Qualitative

*conditions of banana peel to be used during the study.

Statement of the problem

Does the banana peel can be made sa a effective writable ink?

How do you make the banana peel into a writable ink?

Hypothesis

Banana peel can be use as an effective writable ink.

By fermenting the extract came from the banana peel and adding black dye, we can make a writable ink.

Materials:

We need these following materials to produce an alternative Ink:

For making the product:

 Banana Peel
 Mortar and Pestle
 Juicer
 Syringe
 Used Chamber Ink
 Container

Methods
Process:

First,we need to gather the peel of the banana, of course we need the ripest one so that it’s easy to
compress and it has more sap inside of it. In a process of pounding with the use of mortar and pestle
resulting of making extract out of the pounded peel.

After the thorough process, the extract will go through permentation by putting the extract in a sealed
container leaving it for 9-12 days.

After waiting for 9-12 days, the extract is now ready for the next process which is adding the black dye
to the extract which creates the banana ink. Then get the ink refiller(if you don’t have it,the use syringe
and sip the finish ink mixture and put it on ink chamber.then). Then you have now a writable pen using
banana ink.
