Internet of Things in Industries: A Serve

Assignment 1
Q.1 Internet of Things
Ans.
IoT is a connection between real-time entity/things that are attached
with software, other technologies and sensors to the purposes of connecting
and sharing information to other entity or devices or systems (IoT). These
devices range from everyday objects for the home to sophisticated machinery.
There are already about 7 billion connected IoT devices, and researchers
predict that number is increase by 10 billion in 2020 and it will become 22
billion in 2025.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of networked computing devices
which are implanted in commonplace things and allow them to send and
receive data.
Why IOT so important?
IoT is become famous and important 21st-century technology in recent
years. Due to the capacity of ubiquitous items like home appliances, vehicle,
and computers to be connected to the internet via wireless device, continuous
communication between other device and world is now possible.
With the least amount of human involvement possible, sharing and data
collecting by physical things is made possible by less expensive cost computers
devices, network, server data center, analytics, and different technologies. In
today's digital world and technologies may track and alter every connection
between related entities. The real and digital worlds interact, but they also
coexist.
Below various components are used in Internet of things:
 Less-power consumer systems: Less battery usage and higher
efficiency are the opposite variables that are crucial when designing
electronic devices.
 Sensors: The main component of all IoT applications is a sensor. It’s
physical apparatus that evaluates and detects a given real-time
quantity, then transforms it into a signal that may be sent as an input
to a identify or control unit to analytical purposes.
Q-2. Current Challenges, Future Trends for IoT
Ans.
Today, "IoT" is a phrase we hear all the time and is becoming
increasingly popular among consumers, startups, and large companies. It is
paving the way for a lot of technological innovation. Our biggest issue on a
leisurely morning is getting out of bed to turn on/off the fan. Thankfully, the
Internet of Things (IoT) has the answer to this sort of issue. Although it may
seem unfamiliar to others, we already use IoT in our daily lives.

The Internet of Things connects a lot of the objects in our environment.

It has been present for a long time. The history of Internet of Things
demonstrates its whole development from its inception to the present. It says
the electromagnetic telegraph invented by Baron Schilling in Russia in 1832 is
where the concept for the Internet of Things first emerged.

The chart below demonstrates how the Internet of Things is attracting

attention and expanding daily.

A network that allows the connection and interaction of the objects

around us is called the Internet of Things. Ours is an intelligent planet.
Wearables, smart TVs, smart phones, and other smart devices are all around
us. IoT has a very bright future.
The future is all set!
Internet of Things The future of technology is wearables. A wristwatch
may be used to manage your all  things like automobile, including
automatically parking it and closing or opening the doors. The threats around
may be recognized by your wearable technology as well. We already have tools
for keeping tabs on our fitness and activity patterns.
We could soon be able to measure our calorie intake and eating patterns
automatically and conveniently. So everything will be simple, except that
making everything simple is difficult.
Q-3. What are key IoT applications in the industry?
Ans. IoT usage is developing and expanding quickly. Numerous IoT applications
are being developed and deployed in a variety of fields, including pollution
management, health care, stock and production management, food supply
chain (FSC), transportation, worksite and residential support, protection, and
surveillance.
Listed below are a few industrial IoT uses.
1. Using IoT in the healthcare service industry.
All things like people or equipment etc. in a healthcare system may be
continually tracked and monitored because to the IoT is pervasive
identification, sensing, and communication capabilities. All healthcare-related
information, including logistics, diagnosis, treatment, recuperation,
prescription, management, finances, and everyday activities, may be
effectively gathered, managed, and shared thanks to its worldwide
connectedness. For instance, sensors may periodically gather a patient's heart
rates and send them to the doctor's office, which is helpful to the doctor. He or
she has access to all patient's health information at any time and from any
location, and may treat the patient accordingly. IoT-based healthcare services
may be personalized and mobile using computing devices like laptops,
smartphones etc. and mobile Internet connectivity like Wi-Fi, 3G, and LTE.
2. Using IoT in FSC.
The FSC of today is incredibly fragmented and intricate. It has a broad
geographic scope and a long time horizon, complicated operational
procedures, and numerous stakeholders. It can include FSC in the 'agriculture'
sense, It covers food production, manufacturing, preservation, delivery, and
consumer all the way down to precision agriculture.Future FSCs should be
more efficient, economical, and secure. The conventional Food-IoT system
(also known as FSC) consists of three components: Field devices include things
like WSN nodes, RFID readers/tags, user interface terminals, etc.
3. Safe mining production.
Many nations have serious concerns about mine safety because of how
underground mines are run. IoT technology must be employed to comprehend
the warning indicators of mine catastrophes in order to allow early alert,
disaster prediction, and increase safety in underground production. As
underground miners operate in dangerous conditions, using chemical and
biological product (sensors) to early illness identify and check diagnosis is
another valuable use. These chemical and biological product (sensors) may be
used for collect biological data from human body or organs as well as identify
environmental dangers such dangerous dust and noxious fumes that might
result in accidents. One difficulty is that wireless equipment needs electricity
and may result in gas explosions in the mine.
4. In transportation and logistics.
Internet of things will become more significant in the logistics and
transportation sectors. IoT technology, for instance, can enable the tracking of
each vehicle's present position, monitoring of its motion, and forecasting of its
next location. Recently, in AI system created by BMW has employed a variety
of RFID tags, sensors, and wireless communication technology to track the
location of the car and offer driving instructions while also monitoring the
surroundings, such as road conditions. created a sophisticated monitoring
system to keep a check on the humidity and temperature inside a refrigeration
truck.
5. Using IoT in firefighting.
The Internet of Things (IoT) are used to identify possible fires in field of
fire safety and offer early warning for potential fire disasters. To create
centralized databases and management systems for fire extinguisher product
information, RFID tags and/or bar codes are applied to fire extinguisher items
in China. Automatic diagnosis can be carried out by fire departments or other
associated organizations to realized in-depth real-time monitoring, emergency
rescue, and early fire warning when necessary. They have a platform layer,
application layer, sensor layer, and supporting layer, transmission layer as part
of their IoT application infrastructure. Their Internet of Things (IoT)
architecture is built to incorporate both regional and industry-specific
emergency systems. The development of standards for Fire IoT deployment is
now a significant task.
