at our website (https://www.hemusbg.org/about-us/hemus-
2018-post-event-overview).
For the forthcoming Hemus 2020, official VIP delegations
from 68 countries, 4 NATO agencies, the European Defence
Agency and the National Armament Directors of 32 countries
are invited. As for the exhibitors, the initial results of the
marketing campaign for Hemus 2020 are quite encouraging.
Comparing to the same period of the previous marketing
campaign in 2017, so far we have a 25% growth both for
exhibitors that already applied and those who had shown
their interest and are expected to join the exhibition soon.
This makes us to think positively about Hemus 2020 in
terms of VIP delegations, visitors and exhibitors.
Turkish defence and aerospace companies as a matter of
fact traditionally take part in IDEE Hemus and we expect
to host them at Hemus 2020. However, having in mind the
scope, size, strength and success of the Turkish defence
and aerospace industry worldwide, I think there is a great
potential, yet. Primary customers for our exhibitors are the
armed forces, the police force and the security forces from
Bulgaria and abroad. On the other hand we have a number
of ongoing investment projects with already allocated
budgets within the Central Budget such as:
n Acquisition of Core Combat Equipment for Establishing
Battalion Battle Groups within the Mechanized Brigades
and Acquisition of additional equipment for three
battalion battle groups;
n Acquisition of Multipurpose Patrol Vessel;
n Acquisition of a New Type of Multirole Fighter Aircraft;
n Establishment of Joint Operations Centre (JOC) for the
Joint Force Command (JFC);
n Acquisition of Lightweight Turboprop
Basic Trainer Aircraft
n Acquisition of New 3D Radars;
n Modernization of Class E-71 Frigates;
n Cyber Defence;
n Automated Information System of the Ministry of
Defence, the Bulgarian Armed Forces, Operational
and Tactical HQs.
All of them include also the necessary logistic support
during the entire life cycle of the equipment, training of the
personnel etc.
The implementation of the project “Acquisition of a New
Type of Multirole Fighter Aircraft” already started. Next
two primary projects are “Acquisition of Core Combat
