UNIT 1 – INTRODUCTION TO THE DESTINATION

HYDERABAD: -
Hyderabad is the capital and the largest city of the Indian State of Telangana and the De Jure
capital of Andhra Pradesh. It occupies 625 Square Kilometers on the Deccan Plateau along the
banks of Musi River in the Northern part of South India. With an average altitude of 542 meters
(1,778 ft), much of Hyderabad is situated on hilly terrain around artificial lakes, including
the Hussain Sagar lake, predating the city's founding, in the north of the city Centre. According to
the 2011 Census of India, Hyderabad is the fourth-most populous city in India with a population
of 6.9 million residents within the city limits, and has a population of 9.7 million residents in
the metropolitan region, making it the sixth-most populous metropolitan area in India. With an
output of US$74 billion, Hyderabad has the fifth-largest urban economy in India.

Hyderabad emerged as the foremost centre of culture in India with the decline of the Mughal
Empire. After the fall of Delhi in 1857, the migration of performing artists to the city particularly
from the north and west of the Indian sub-continent, under the patronage of the Nizam, enriched
the cultural milieu. This migration resulted in a mingling of North and South Indian languages,
cultures and religions, which has since led to a co-existence of Hindu and Muslim traditions, for
which the city has become noted. A further consequence of this north–south mix is that
both Telugu and Urdu are official languages of Telangana.
UNIT 2 – VISIT TO EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND GUEST LECTURES

1. Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Technology: -

Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute of Telangana is a training
institute for Civil Servants and Government Officials of Government of Telangana located in
Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The Institute started as an administration in 1976. The Institute is
located on a verdant 45-acre campus. It was expanded in 2006 with 375 centrally air-conditioned
rooms. It also has a helipad on its premises. It has a guesthouse with 15 rooms.

A) Lecture on FINANCIAL MARKETS by Dr. Kishore Kumar.

Dr. Kishore started the lecture with some basics. He taught us that there are mainly two
subcategories in Capital of a Business that are Borrowing and Money Invested by the Owners. In
Borrowing, there are two more subcategories namely Bonds and Banks whereas in Money
Invested, it includes Shares / Stocks Equity.
Financial system was discussed. A financial system is an organized and regulated structure where
exchange of funds takes place between lenders and borrowers. There are mainly four components
of a financial system that are Participants, Markets, Products and Services. He also told us that
interest rates are negative in some countries like Sweden, Japan, Norway, etc. to name a few. And
Interest values are positive and high in India, Argentina, Brazil, etc.
Lastly, the structure of modern financial system was showed. It consists of five divisions that are
financial markets, financial instruments, financial participants, financial regulators, and financial
services. In the financial markets, there are 4 more types namely Capital market, Money market,
Fix market and Derivatives market. Capital market consists of Primary and Secondary Markets
that finally consists of Debt Markets and Equity Markets.
B ) Lecture on PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT by Dr. Mira Vempati.

Dr. Mira Vempati taught us about building Personal Strengths. It was more practical one that
helped us to understand who we really are and what do we need to improve in ourselves to build
our personal strength.
She taught us about Self Awareness. What is self-awareness, what does it mean, and why is it
important. Our self-awareness includes our values and beliefs, Interests, Skills, Strengths and
Weaknesses, and our Goals.

She then took an activity. She just asked us to draw a semi-circle within a rectangle within a star
within a diamond within a square. Everybody tried but everyone got it differently. This is because
she just asked us to draw those shapes and not properly instructed us on how to draw them. She
taught that the main thing about communication is that the message should be clear and well
understood by the receiver.

C ) Lecture on CYBER SECURITY by Mr. Sandeep Mudalkar.

Mr. Sandeep shared his knowledge of a very important topic Cyber Security. Cyber Crimes are
rapidly growing not only in Hyderabad, not only in India but all over the world.
There are various types of cyber crimes that cyber criminals commit such as stealing money from
bank accounts or debit cards, defaming on social media or blackmailing after hacking private data..
He told us that these important details of ours are very easy for them to obtain. For example, they
might send you a link of anything. Generally, people will open that link in order to see what it is
but when the link opens, the virus or worm inside it attacks the device and decrypts and steals all
the important and private data and we are not even aware of it. Sometimes, the links are genuine.
For this he told us about a website to check the genuineness of a link. You simply must copy and
paste the received link on the website. The website entirely scans the link for free of cost and tells
you that if it contains virus or not.
He suggested three names of antiviruses for best use in budget-
CyberSecurity Antivirus
QuikHeal Antivirus
Caspersky Antivirus

2. Institute of Public Enterprise: -

The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) was established in 1964 for the study of issues and polices
relating to public enterprise (PEs). S S Khera, ICS, the Cabinet Secretary, Government of India,
had conceived the idea of a research institution that would undertake a systematic and sustained
study of issues relevant to the formulation of policies towards public enterprises. In the early
sixties, when PEs were designed as the principal instrument to serve the social and economic
objectives of development, Khera felt a need for an institute that would collect information on PEs,
study issues, and undertake consultancy and training for PEs.

A) Lecture on ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION by Dr. Aashish.

Mr. Aashish started this lecture by asking us about the fastest way to travel which is Time Travel.
He told us an amazing fact which most of us did not knew earlier. The fact was that the Owners of
Dropbox, Google, Spotify, Twitter, Facebook were in the same class at one time.
He then taught us about the concept of Intelligence. Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply
knowledge and Skills.
There are mainly two types of Intelligence namely Emotional Intelligence and Entrepreneurial
Intelligence when we talk about Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Lastly, he told us that –
Intelligence consists of Survive, Advance, Compete.
Emotional Intelligence consists of Socialize, Empathize, Communicate.

2. ALEAP Industrial Area: -

The main aim of ALEAP is to support women to be economically independent and guide them in
converting their idea into business. As a result of much research and hard work, ALEAP was
conceptualized and was inaugurated by Sri. K. Vijayabhaskara Reddy, then Honorable Chief
Minister, Govt. of A.P. on December 18th, 1993.
ALEAP was the dream of women entrepreneurs, who wanted to train, guide, support, and enhance
the lives of other women. The Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP) was
established with an aim to bring women entrepreneurs trying to help each other. From the past 20
years, ALEAP is striving to make the State of Andhra Pradesh empowered through promoting
women entrepreneurship, ALEAP’s aim is to make the women economically independent, through
motivation, counselling, training, and hand holding. Accordingly, during the last two decades,
increasing number of women have entered the field of entrepreneurship and also, they are
gradually changing the face of economy of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

We visited the ALEAP Industrial Area. Ms. Dhruti showed us all the information about ALEAP,
its functionality, its milestones, and achievements. We were so overwhelmed by this information
and we all liked the way ALEAP functions and empowers many women. All the small and various
business units in the area are run by Women. Majority of the employees and workers are women.
There are very few Men who are involved but the nice thing is that all the men whoever are
involved in some work are supervised by Women.
Then, she also gave us some information about the ALEAP Flagship Programmes, ALEAP’S
Infrastructure Development, its marketing support to women entrepreneurs, its Partner
organizations, and the Women Entrepreneur Hub.

We were taken to various business units and were introduced with the heads of these units who
were all women and we also got to know the working systems of different units. We were taken to
a Biscuit making facility, Paint colors making facility, and a plastic corks and small funnels
making facility to name a few. We were given the knowledge about how do the make the biscuits,
paints, clothes and in how many different stages are they made. We were so grateful that we got
the opportunity to learn about ALEAP and visit its industrial area. All students asked many
questions about its working and we all were satisfied with the answers. This was a truly amazing
and wonderful experience.
3. Ramoji Film City: -
Ramoji Film City is an integrated film studio complex located in Hyderabad, India. Spread over
1666 acres, it is the largest integrated film city in the world and as such has been certified by
the Guinness World Records as the largest studio complex in the world. It was built by Telugu film
producer Ramoji Rao in 1996. The Guardian described Ramoji Film City as "city within a city."
It is also a popular tourism and recreation center, containing natural and artificial attractions
including an amusement park. Around 1.5 million tourists visit the place every year.

The film city is the brainchild of film producer Ramoji Rao, who wanted to build a studio similar
to the ones in Hollywood.[1] On procuring the land, he signed art director Nitish Roy to design the
complex. According to an executive, the builders kept the land, which at that time consisted of
jungles and mountainous terrain, intact, without removing one tree or mountain.

The studio has a central kitchen for the various film units shooting at any given point in time.

People can visit the film sets, theme parks, amusement rides, etc.[1] The film city also has two
hotels inside it, 47 sound stages and permanent sets ranging from railway stations to temples.[2]

The film city also has Baahubali set, all the statues and instruments used in Baahubali film can be
seen here. Hotstar Disney rents Ramoji film city for 3 years.

We visited the Ramoji Film City. We reached Ramoji Film City after breakfast. So, we all about a
group of 10 – 12 people, we entered the film city and the first thing we did was the Wild West
Show. It was a village action sequence popular in the USA. It was an amazing show. All the action
scenes were amazing. After that, we went to see the Dance and Music show. It was a splendid
show of Dance and Music. Then me and my group headed towards some rides and haunted house
which was really a exciting experience . Then we had our lunch at a restaurant in the film city. Post
lunch we had a guided Bus tour. It was the best attraction of the Film City. They drove us to most
of the film city with some stoppage at the famous sets for photo sessions and simultaneously the
guide was also informing us about its specialty. We saw some iconic sets such as the Mahabharata
and Ramayana set, The Chennai Express Set, Wazir Set and some props used in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Then we had a stoppage at a locality called London in the Film City it was so beautiful, and many
artificial big houses were set up to give a feel of The London Lifestyle.

Last but not the least, the Iconic Sets of The Biggest Movie in Indian Cinema, Baahubali were
included in our guided tour package. The set was at some distance from other things and was very
big. We reached the sets, and Baahubali’s theme music was playing giving us thrills and
goosebumps. All the main props were on the sets such as the Singhasana of Baahubali, the cage of
Devasena, the Bull that Bhallaladeva fights with and many more things.
All major cast’s statues were built there, Baahubali, Devasena, Bhallaladeva, Katappa, Rajmata,
etc. to name a few.
