Steps to remove existing/old Nielit certificate

Following steps to be followed, if nielit certificate is installed in the machine, otherwise skip to
new NIELIT digital certificate installation steps:
1. Open Run Dialog Box by pressing Windows + R and type mmc and click on OK button.

2. Following screen of Console Root will appear:

3. Click on File and then on Add/Remove Snap-in or use the shortcut Ctrl+M.

4. Following screen of Add or Remove Snap-ins will appear, then select Certificates and click on
Add button.
5. Following screen of Certificates snap-in will appear, select Computer account and click on
Next Button.

6. Following screen of Select Computer will appear, select Local computer click on Finish
Button.
7. Click on OK Button.

8. Double Click on Certificates (Local Computer).

9. Double Click on Trusted Root Certification Authorities

10. Double Click on Certificates

11. Locate nielit.local certificate, right click on the same and select delete option and then press
on OK.
Installation of NIELIT Digital Certificate
Open web browser and type https://pareeksha.nielit.gov.in in URL section and select Examination
Superintendent(ES)/ Invigilator panel and login the same with valid ES credentials. Click on
Download Examination Components tab, select centre and then click on Download NIELIT
Certificate button. Consequent upon successful download, extract the same and a file named
nielitCA.pem will get available for import.

Steps to install Digital Certificate are here as follows:

1. Open Run Dialog Box by pressing Windows + R and type mmc and click on OK button.
2. Following screen of Console Root will appear:

4. Following screen of Add or Remove Snap-ins will appear, then select Certificates and click on
Add button.

5. Following screen of Certificates snap-in will appear, select Computer account and click on
Next Button.
6. Following screen of Select Computer will appear, select Local computer click on Finish
Button.

7. Click on OK Button.
8. Double Click on Certificates (Local Computer).

9. Right Click on Trusted Root Certification Authorities, select All Tasks and click on Import.
10. Certificate Import Wizard screen will appear, Local Machine option will be selected by default,
then click on Next button.

11. Browse and select the downloaded digital certificate file and then click on Next button.
12. Store certificate in Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click on Next button.

13. Click on Finish button and Certificate Import Wizard message box will appear, containing
message “The import was successful”. Click on OK Button. Now digital certificate installation
is complete.

Note: You may browse https://nielit.local without any certificate error in browser
