FESTIVAL OF THE LAITY
CONGRESS

a festival of the laity congress at
Ranen Conference to cater for
Ranen, Kenya Lake, Central
Nyanza Conferences and Lake
Victoria Field.
This decision to divide the
congress came due to the
country’s covid-19 health
protocols. The congress was held
at Kamagambo TTC from 26th-
30th December, 2021. The theme
was “I Will Go”, and the key text
was from Isaiah 6:8- whom shall I
send...
There were a total of 515
delegates who were officially
registered plus several attendees
who would just walk in during the
presentations and walk back to
their various homes. The guest
speaker at the congress was Dr.
Samuel Misiani (WKUC President)
being assisted by several union
departmental heads including: Pr.
John Tuwei- Family Life, Pr.
Meshack Mbago- Stewardship,
Elder Daniel Tirop-Health and Pr.
Philip Gai-Communication. Elder
David Sande the union treasurer

MISSION WORK REVISITED AT KLC

In Kenya Lake Conference of
Seventh-Day Adventists, the year
2021 was a remarkable year
concerning the mission of the
church. The conference decided
to engage all new Mission Bible
Instructors and frontline pastors
in a seminar conducted on the
9th and 10th of January 2022 at
the KLC headquarters to
reenergize them for the mission.

OF THE WEST
RIFT VALLEY
CONFERENCE

As the Englishman says, a
journey of a thousand miles
begins with one step. This
common adage became a reality
on 27th January 2022. This came
just a day after the inauguration
of the North Rift Field. WKUC
experienced another historic
moment when the inauguration of
West Rift Valley field went down
in the books of History and the
minds of leaders and Congregants
of the Greater Rift Valley
Conference. It was a great day
characterised by pomp and color
in the Conference of champions,
the Greater Rift Valley
Conference.
The new field lies strategically
on a parcel that is just a few
kilometres away from the
University of Eastern Africa,
Baraton. Congregants as well as
the leaders from the region could
not hide their joy and ecstasy as
they went into jubilation the

ORDINATION AT RANEN

Ordination is the process by

which individuals are
consecrated, or set apart and
elevated from the laity class to
the clergy. By this act, the
ministers are authorized (usually
by the denominational hierarchy
composed of other clergy) to
perform various religious rites
and ceremonies. This exercise is a
family affair where by both the
pastor and the wife are
consecrated together for
ministry.

Ordination is the privilege of

entering into ministry on a
different level of conducting
different services which only
consecrated ministers perform.
This is the highest point which
called ministers ever reach in

ORDINATION AT MALELA SDA
CHURCH

that their work should be above

church by revelation to set them
apart publicly to the work of the
ministry.

attended by many people who
came as far as Greater Rift Valley
Conference, UEAB. Pastor Samuel
Misiani, President West Kenya
Union Conference accompanied
by his wife Eunice Misiani were
the officiants. There were many
other ministers who were also
accompanied by their wives.

ordination was when the
ordinants received flowers from
their spouses. The occasion
looked like a wedding with

A BUILDING WITH A DIFFERENCE

On 25th January 2022, the new
headquarters of Greater Rift
Valley Conference (GRVC) was
dedicated to the Lord. This grand
occasion occurred at the very
grounds of GRVC and the chief
guest was Pr. Blasious Ruguri, the
president of East-Central African
Division (ECD) accompanied by
Pr. Alain Coralie, Executive
Secretary of ECD and Pr. Jerome
Habimana, the Chief Finance
Officer of ECD. Other leaders
from West Kenya Union
Conference and East Kenya Union
Conference were present to
celebrate this grand milestone.
GRVC which is one of the
entities within West Kenya Union
Conference, embarked on this
audacious project in 2017 and by
2019, the building was complete.
The church members within the
conference and other supporting
donors raised about 100m Kenyan
shillings for this cause.
WKUC EXPLOITS
Pr. Christopher Misoi, the
President of GRVC amazed the
people when he mentioned that
there was no fundraising done for
this project. Members from within
the conference just gave
generously out of the abundance
of their hearts. The leaders
agreed that when the church
members are spiritually fed, they
support the mission work
wholeheartedly without
murmuring.
THEY SETTLED FOR
NOTHING LESS THAN
THE BEST FOR THE
GLORY OF GOD
During the inauguration, all the
various leaders and guests toured
the building and were impressed
by the architecture prowess and
the detailed finishing to the
building.

“This is what you consider as a
very elegant work,” said Pr. Ruguri
during the tour, “GRVC is
speaking very loudly about what
the church of today should look
like.” Truly they settled for
nothing less than the best for the
glory of God.
During Pr. Misoi’s remarks, he
quoted an excerpt from Ellen
White’s writings, “We have
nothing to fear for the future,
except as we shall forget the way
the Lord has led us and His
teaching in our past history.” The
event was crowned with
celebrations through songs,
prayers and testimonies. Many
who were in attendance were
moved to continue supporting the
conference and the work God has
laid before them by giving
thanksgiving offerings all for the
glory of God.
