Quick start.
Keypad can be used as a primary or secondary controller. This devices a plenty of complex use cases while this
section will explain how Keypad can be used as both a stand alone Z-Wave Network or as a Secondary controller to
another Z-Wave network.
Product Usage.
Keypad can operate in two different modes. The mode is chosen the way the device is included into a Z-Wave network:
1. Stand Alone Mode. In this case Keypad acts as the primary network controller and will include other devices
such as e.g. a strike lock control or a door bell. No other central controller is needed. The management of user
codes is done using Keypad itself.
2. Network Mode. Keypad is included as additional device into an exiting network. In Z-Wave terms it will then act
as inclusion (secondary) controller. It will send commands to a central controller and is managed by this
controller. In this mode the device can still directly control door locks but it can also be used to trigger scenes in
a central controller.
Keypad as a stand alone controller is to be used as a method to control your Z-Wave door locks and other Indicator
devices (ie. light switches, Door bells, etc).
Keypad will automatically sort out your devices that you pair to Keypad between these 2 groups as you pair them. You
are allow to pair up to 10 devices for each group.
1. Remove back cover of Keypad to set this device into Management Mode (MM)
2. Tap key "8"
3. Immediately tap "*" key
4. Enter key "2" then "0".
5. Immediately tap "*" key
6. Enter PIN (4 to 10 digits)
7. Immediately tap "*" key to finish programming.
Quick Start - Simple Door Lock control.
-Or enter Management Mode using steps * in the image to the left. (Key * -> Enter Master PIN -> Key *).
2. Tap key "1", then "*", now set your Door Lock into pair mode (include/pair Z-Wave devices - Image 3 + 4 + 5)
3. Ensure the correct operation happened via LED Status (Image 6)
4. Enter test user code:
Tap key "*", then test user pin code "0 0 0 0" (Image 7 + 8)
5. Confirm entry by tapping "*" key (Image 9)
6. Confirm if included door lock opens or closes.
Quick Start - Indicator device test and use.
-Or enter Management Mode using steps * in the image to the left. (Key * -> Enter Master PIN -> Key *).
2. Tap key "1", then "*", now set your Indicator device into pair mode (include/pair Z-Wave devices - Image 3 + 4 +

3. Ensure the correct operation happened via LED Status (Image 6)
4. Tap "Bell" key (Image 7)
5. Confirm if switches or bells react (Image 8)
Include/Pair Z-Wave devices.
Devices must be paired to Keypad or be in the same network as Keypad to allow Keypad to control them. This must be
done first before you program your controls.
1. Set Keypad into Management mode (remove the back cover of this unit) / (green blinking slowly)
2. Tap button "1"
3. Immediately confirm by tapping key "*" (red/green LEDs are blinking constantly)
4. Follow the instruction manual of the Z-Wave Device you are pairing to Keypad for the button press required to
pair it. (Most Z-Wave Devices use a single button press, but it could be a double tap, or press and hold for a
second or 2).

1. Pair a Z-Wave controller or gateway as a secondary to Keypad (follow steps from "Include Z-Wave devices.)
2. Set Keypad into Management mode (remove the back cover of this unit)
3. Tap button "3"
4. Immediately confirm by tapping key "*"
5. Set your secondary controller paired to Keypad to "Learn" mode (follow the instruction manual of your Z-Wave
controller on how to do so).
Attention: If you use Keypad as device with Popp-Hub or any other Z-Way based controller you need to install the app
‘Keypad‘ for
managing user codes
accessing the usage history (key codes entered, failed attempts)

Advanced functions.

Association Groups.
Group Association is a specific function in Z-Wave that allows you to tell Keypad who it can speak to. Some devices
may only have 1 group association meant for the gateway, or multiple group associations that can be used for specific
events. This type of function isn't used too often, but when it is available, you may be able to use it to directly
communicate to Z-Wave devices instead of controlling a scene within a gateway which can have unforeseen delays.
Some gateways have the ability to set Group Associations to devices that have these special events and functions.
Typically this is used to allow your gateway to update the status of Keypad instantly.
By default, your primary gateway should have been associated to Keypad automatically during the pairing of your
Switch. For any case you have a Secondary Z-Wave Controller, you'll need to associate it to your Keypad in order for
your secondary controller to update its status.
Keypad as a secondary controller will forward all commands through Group 1 (Lifeline).
Access Control (0x06): "Manual code exceeds limits (0x13)"; Sent, when pin code entered is more then 10
Access Control (0x06): "Invalid User Code (0x14)";Sent, when entered pin code doesn’t exist
Access Control (0x06): "Keypad Unlock (0x06)"; Sent, when entered pin code is correct and door is opened.
This command also encapsulates the USER_CODE_REPORT with the pin entered
Access Control (0x06): "All User Codes Deleted (0x0c)";Sent, when all pin codes are removed by command
from controller
Access Control (0x06): "Single User Code deleted (0x0d)";Sent, when new pin code is removed by command
from controller, or manually on Keypad
Access Control (0x06): "New User Code added (0x0e)"; Sent, when new pin code is added by command from
controller, or manually on Keypad
Access Control (0x06): "New User Code not added (0x0f)"; Sent, when after attempt to add new pin code, using
keypad
Burglar Alarm (0x07): "Tamper Removed"; When Keypad is unmounted and enclosure is opened
Configuration Parameters.
These values can only be configured if Keypad is a secondary controller.
After this time a CLOSE command is sent to the controlled door lock. On default no CLOSE command is sent assuming
that the strike lock has its own timeout set
After this time the Door Bell will receive an OF command regardless of the actuall button is pressed or not
This value is sent into Association Group 3 when the door bell button is pressed.
This value is sent into Association Group 3 when the door bell button is released or the timeout has reached.
This parameter defines if different user codes shall cause individual or similar scene ID sent to the main controller.
