Evidence of the first Mass's location is being sought by investigators.

The data in the table below

comes from the case study on the location of the first Mass. Only two main sources were used to locate
the first Massachusetts. One example is the journal kept by Francisco Albo on board Magellan's ship
Trinidad. He was one of the Victoria's 18 surviving passengers, along with Sebastian Elcano. Antonio
Pigafetta's The First World Tour was a more complete work (First Voyage around the World). As a
passenger on Magellan's ship, Pigafetta was present for the first Mass.
Pigafetta's and Albo's testimony and secondary materials were examined by historians to support
our arguments that the first Mass was sacramental in nature. Antonio Pigafetta's account is more reliable
than Albo's since it includes the date and place of the occurrence. There are three islands visible to the
west and southwest from the mountaintop from where Albo remembers raising a crucifix. Pigafetta claims
that the first Easter Mass would be said in Butuan on March 31. Pigafetta's book immediately became a
classic, and William Shakespeare, Michel de Montaigne, and Giambattista Vico included it into their
views of the new world. Pigafetta's chronicle was a prominent pre-colonial Philippine history source.
Opinions, on the other hand, do not have to be wishful thinking. This is likewise a poor argument.
Many points of view may be valid if defined as one person's point of view. Science, like religion, tells a
fascinating tale to help us understand our place in the universe. Although it is not empirically established,
science aids me. Keeping facts and views separate simplifies our message.
Facts are empirical assertions such as the boiling point of a material, the density of lead, or global
warming. Opinions are non-empirical claims, such as whether eating animals is ethical or whether vanilla
ice cream tastes better than chocolate. Ethics is a framework in which facts alone cannot determine
actions.
