2021 IN-SERVICE TRAINING (INSET) PROPOSAL


February 3-5, 2022

I. TITLE: “Securing Financial and Technical Leverage Amidst


Pandemic”

II. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the INSET week, participants will be able to:
 To improve the economic and financial literacy of teachers.
 To provide the teachers the basic technical knowledge on repairing
laptops and computers
 To ensure the quality of self-learning modules (SLMs) being used in the
modular distance learning modality.
III. RATIONALE
Recent studies show how Filipinos struggle to understand basic
financial concepts, with a Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) survey
showing that 41% of Filipinos can only answer one of three financial
literacy questions correctly and a meager eight percent can answer three.
With this, DepEd issued its Financial Education Policy under
DepEd Order No. 022, Series of 2021 which aims to help learners and
teaching and non-teaching personnel to make sound financial decisions
by making Financial Education an essential part of school lessons and
activities for learners and provision of capability building opportunities for
teaching and non-teaching personnel.

On a separate note, teachers struggle on finances spent on repairs


of printers and computers/laptops used in providing modules for modular
classes. It is known that Calatrava National High School is currently
offering modular classes as a form of instruction this pandemic for some
reasons like lack of gadgets, slow/no internet connectivity, and the like.
However, the teachers face problems on the materials used in
modular classes like the ones mentioned above. With this, this training
aims to provide the teachers the basic technical knowledge on repairing
laptops and computers. Furthermore, this training can help the teachers
be spared from additional expenses brought by the modular instruction.

III. METHODOLOGIES
The first day of the INSET training will be allotted for the short opening
program and the Resource speakers will present the topic assigned to them
through power point presentation.

The training will be collaborative and inclusive. The knowledge will not
only be from the speakers but also from the participants.

VIII. Monitoring & Evaluation:


Monitoring and evaluation is an essential component of every activity. The
preparation and the secretariat committee will ensure the smooth implementation
of the training. The outcome determines the possible solutions and
recommendations that will improve the delivery of instructions to the learner.
Output and Activity portfolios will be gathered by the process observers for
evaluation. After the training is completed, a narrative report and pictorials will be
submitted to the Schools Division Office as mode of verification.
