BASEMA: Hello good afternoon ma’am how are u ?

Participant: Hi good afternoon Basema , l’m fine

BASEMA: going back, our research study is all about your

learning experince on nursing education
during this pandemic time
Participant: ok BASEMA

BASEMA: How would you describe your learning experiences so far

(in classroom/in skills/in virtual duties both in hospital and
community setting) at the University of the Cordilleras (UC)?
Participant: my experience during pandemic was not that good
much, learning at home doesn’t give students a good environment
to learn everything when you with face to face classroom. The
students can not concentrate completely there are more destructive
at home.
Virtual duty is not a good idea we are not meeting the reality is
real patients that why I think we will not learn more if you
compare will with face to face.

BASEMA: What problems/ challenges have you encountered with the

flexible online distance learning (ODL)?
Participant: online classes comes with a lot of challenges ,
first when you are at home suddenly , some visit may come at
home, they may sit in the living room, they can destruct you and
there is noisy environment around our house.

BASEMA: How did you cope with these problems or challenges?

Participant: it is not that easy , there nothing we can do, due
to the problem of connectivity and interruption of electricity,
when it happens you will just wait until it will come back and at
the same time , I will not wait for you which leads to miss a lot
of discussion.

BASEMA: What is the best support have you received from your
parents/relatives/friends/ school administration or oth er
people?

Participant:Ireceived supports from my parentar

relatives, friends,and others. First,my parents
understood how difficult my schooling is
since we are all haven’t yet coped up with the
current situation. Hence, they would not let us do
many household chores.

BASEMA: How did the online distance learning help you in the
acquisition of knowledge, skills or attitude to become a
professional nurse?
Participant: it helps me but the only learn doesn’t provide all
acquired knowledge when you compared with face to face learning.

BASEMA: What do you think are the advantages of online distance

learning during this pandemic?
Participant: it is readily convenient because you can take it at
home. It has help to learn self-discipline, it helps to connects
people globally. It showed me that I can still learn at home.

BASEMA: How has the current pandemic affected you in terms of

your education or attending your online classes?
Participant: pandemic has not only affects me but everyone, for
me online and face to face learning are completely different,
when you are at school you be come more active then staying at
home.

BASEMA: What do you think are the disadvantages of online

distance learning during this pandemic?
Participant: time limits, even if zoom meeting sessions ends and
will rejoin again it’s kind of distractive to us (both students
and instructors) and also there less privilege among students to
participate fully in the classroom.

BASEMA: How did you manage your time during the online distance
learning?
Participant: I managed my time by having self-discipline,
organize myself and follow the schedule of my time table.

BASEMA: Relative to your learning experiences amidst this

pandemic, what program/s/activity/ies would you suggest/recommend
to improve or enhance the student nurses’ learning experiences
during this time of pandemic?
Participant: I recommend other student nurses to accept the only
learning because now there is nothing we can do, take it easy with
their instructor and to do their requirements as required or to do
what is intended to do and building a positive thinking habits
because will help them to achieve more.
