1. Introduction
This document describes the optional DICOM WORKLIST installation procedure for the
WHA-200 Pleno.
With DICOM worklist option, it is able to obtain the patient information from DICOM devices
which is specified as DICOM WorklistSCP. Installation involves only connecting the LAN
cable and making settings in the service application.

2. Environment Information

2.1. Network Information

To connect the WHA-200 Pleno to DICOM device, it must be connected to the hospital
network. Obtain the following network information from the hospital network administrator
and set them for the WHA-200 Pleno. Section 3 describes the setting method.

Default gateway :

Determining the Network Settings


1) The IP address and net mask are normally controlled by the hospital. If they have to
be set by Shimadzu, then:
ƒ set the IP address to a value between 192.168.10.1 and 192.168.10.254
ƒ set the net mask to 255.255.255.0

2) If the net mask default value is required for the IP address, set the net mask as
follows:
(1) IP address begins with 1 to 127, set the net mask to 255.0.0.0
(2) IP address begins with 128 to 191, set the net mask to 255.255.0.0
(3) IP address begins with 192 to 254, set the net mask to 255.255.255.0

In some cases, (1) is called Class A, (2) is called Class B, (3) is called Class C.

2.2. DICOM Environment Information

The following information must be exchanged with the connected DICOM device. Provide
the WHA-200 Pleno information to the connected DICOM device and then acquire the
required information of the connected DICOM device. Enter this information in the table
below. This information is required to make the settings in Section 3.

3. Setting Procedure

3.1. Connecting the Network Cable

Insert the end of a network cable connected to the hospital network into the LAN cable inlet
at the rear of the monitor cart. (The user disconnects this cable when moving the monitor
cart.)

3.2. Network Settings

Follow the procedure below to set the network settings for the PC inside the monitor cart.

1) Login in the service mode and run the service application.


2) Click the [Utilities] button in the service application.
3) A window opens. Click the [Network Connections] button in this window.

4) Right-click the Local Area Connection icon in the window. Select Properties in the
pop-up menu.

5) The following window opens. Select [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] and click
[Properties].

6) The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties window opens. Select [Use the following
IP address] and enter “IP address”, “Subnet mask”, and “Default gateway”
information. Click [OK].

The network settings are now complete.

3.3. Environment Information Settings

3.3.1. Edit Setting files

Open the following file by “NotePad” to change the settings of [Worklist_Service_List] as


follows.

3.3.2. Set Service application
Follow the procedure below to set the DICOM Environment Information from the service
application.

1) Click the [Worklist Devices] button in service application (Configuration window). The
following screen opens.

2) Enter an appropriate name for the connected device in [Name]. (This name is
displayed as the connected device name in clinical application.) Correctly enter in [IP
Addr], [AE Title], and [Port #] for the connected device. [Local AE Title] should contain
“WHA_WorklistSCU” by default. If not, enter “WHA_WorklistSCU” in this box as
follows.

It is not allowed to newly set “Empty” or the character string including “Empty”
at [Name] field in this screen. Be sure to set the name other than “Empty”.

3) When complete entering the data, click [Next]. The settings of connected device are
saved and this screen is closed to return to the service application screen.

Ŷ To delete the settings in this screen


1) Select the destination name of connected device to be deleted from the
pull down menu of [Name] field. The settings of selected destination
device are displayed in other fields on this screen.
2) Click [Delete].

When click [Delete], the dialog might open below.

Click [OK] to close the dialog and click again [Delete]. The following dialog
opens.

Click [OK] to close the dialog, then click [Next]. The deletion applies to the
settings.

When [Delete] is clicked and on deleting the setting on the screen, this
deletion actually does not apply to the settings yet unless [Next] is clicked. Be
sure to click [Next] to apply the deletion and close this screen.

4. Checking Worklist
1) Confirm that the connected DICOM device is ready to send patient information.
2) Run the clinical application to open [Worklist] tab of [Patient List] window and
confirm that the patient information can be queried properly. (For the details see
“M516-E013 OPESCOPE PLENO Image Processing Section Installation
Manual, 2.6 Import Patient Data Using DICOM Worklist Feature (Option)”)

5. Applying the Label
After checking worklist, stick the label on the monitor unit to indicate that the DICOM
WORKLIST option is installed. (If other labels have already been applied, stick the label at
any suitable position inside the frame.)
