Definition of Environmental Science

Environmental science refers to a collection of scientific disciplines concerned with the physical,
chemical, and biological properties of the environments in which organisms live. It is also a study of how
humans interact with the environment. Its main goal is to protect the environment, which is why it focuses
on concrete or tangible problems rather than theoretical ideas.

What I learned
What I remember of environmental science in high school was more about natural resources and
environmental problems. Natural resource exploitation, exploration, mining, and processing have resulted
in a variety of environmental damages, including ecological disturbances, destruction of natural flora and
fauna, pollution of air, water, and land, instability of soil and rock masses, landscape degradation,
desertification, and global warming.
