Subject: Proposed Work Methodology Statement.

According to the works planned to be done, the complexity and accessibility of the site, the following
factors are an integral part of our proposed methodology as described below:

1. THE PROCUREMENT AND STORAGE OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS

2. SANITATION ISSUES AND SAFETY
3. ORGANIZATION OF WORKS AND MANAGEMENT OF WORKERS
4. SECURITY OF MATERIALS
5. COMMUNICATION

1. PROCUREMENT AND STORAGE OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS

As the construction of this fence begins with especially the foundations works, the hard task is to
dispatch different materials ( stones, aggregates, sand, cement, water...) at different points. For this,
we are planning to have our storages as follows:

 STORAGE No 1 as Main Storage at containers site ( to serve sector 3)

 STORAGE No 2 on the murram road adjascent to the asphalt road to Free zone ( to serve
sector 3 & 4)
 STORAGE No 3 at the former parking where we moved murram (to serve part of sector 5).
Preferably to begin with this one due to the difficult access road.
 Somewhere else we can not get space of storage, we will organize offlloading of materials by
night team ( Especially on the Main Road 12 – 15 )

(GUSHYIRAHO YA MAP UKEREKANA STORE No 1, No 2 na No 3)

Please add map of the these locations

This is the general picture of the storage of materials. However, according to the works progress,
we will increase, where is possible, the number of storages in order to maximize easy dispatching
of materials as THE KEY FACTOR of this job.

Storage of fencing materials from Chine?

Storage of tools and equipment that will be used during construction?

2. SANITATION ISSUES AND SAFETY

We will construct toilets of workers:

One in sector 3
One in sector 4
Two in sector 5

( GUSHYIRAHO NA NONE YA MAP TUKEREKANA AHAZAJYA IZO LATRINES)

Please add map of exact prefered locations
What type of toilets? How about the after use? Demobilisation?
For this point, Doctor Joseph (Botanist) advised to reuse the former places where toiltets of workers
were constructed in those sectors and every toilet will have a person exclusively in charge of its
cleanlineess. The safety measures for all workers will be respected due to that critical area.

Safety :
Method statement of all risks associated with this work and how to mitigate them:
Snake bite: what is the mitigation major?
Injury by pins from trees,
Risk of contamination of water, ....
Will you be having safety induction to all workers?
Tool box talks about safety every morning

3. ORGANIZATION OF WORKS AND MANAGEMENT OF WORKERS

As the works are done in parallel in the 3 sectors, each sector will have its team in terms of Team
leader, masons, carpenters, and helpers. We do not forget that we will also organize the night teams
for specific tasks in order to respect the deadline as much as possible.

The site foreman will move through those sectors, and all the site personnel will be coordinated by the
Site Engineer day by day.
For the specific works that require some tests (e.g mass concrete), we will plan them accordingly in
order to avoid any missunderstanding with the consultant.

Concerning the Installation of fence, we will plan it by teams for the sections where the foundations
are completed and approved.

The person who will be in charge of first aid to workers will be also present on site.

Can you make a site organisation chart with names where names are known and leave blank where
we haven’t hired?
Discribe the role of each of the team member in short

4. SECURITY OF MATERIALS

As described in Point No1, it will be better to appoint on each storage of materials a night guard to
assume the whole security of tha materials because, as everyone knows it, there are a lot of thieves
in that wetland.

How about half finished works of fence installation? How do you secure them ?
We need to collaborate with ISCO on that for the contract length.
Consider the security of materials from China as well

5. COMMUNICATION

For this project, a good communication at all levels will be privileged from the team leader to the site
Engineer, who will also communicate the received urgent message to the Project Manager.

In brief, those were the key points of our Methodology statement. However, any important point can
be added for the good progress of this Fence Project.

Will need to make list of activities that make up the overall project and detail how each will be done in
respect to standard, contract and site condition.
