A Note From Our
New Music Teacher
Hello! My name is Piper Singletary!
I grew up in Tallahassee, FL. I earned
my Bachelor’s in Music Education from
THE Florida State University, College of
Music. I am certified to teach music
grades kindergarten through twelfth
grade. Music has been an integral part
of my life for as long as I can
remember.
First Nine Weeks
Piano lessons began at age four and I
started playing the clarinet, my
primary instrument, in sixth grade
band. Shortly after beginning my
teaching career in 2021, I married my
high school sweetheart, a fellow music
educator and the current Band
Director at Gulf Breeze High School. In
My time not spent at school I enjoy
spending time with my two cats, Bear
and Fish, and doing Pilates. I am very
excited to make music at GBE and
look forward to a fabulous school year
ahead!

Primary Grades (K - 2)
During the first nine weeks, primary
students will be focusing on on the
foundations of music and classroom
expectations. This includes basics such
as beat, and rhythm. To help you
primary students in music encourage
them to clap with the beat and sing
along to songs on the radio!
Intermediate Grades (3 - 5)
Intermediate students will mainly focus
on reinforcing basic music concepts
during the first nine weeks. We will
refresh reading notes and rhythms as
well as expectations in the music room.
After reacquainting students with these
concepts, we will be able to dive even
deeper by using singing and
instruments. Singing and playing
instruments is a great way to gain real
life experience applying the knowledge
acquired during music class. Encourage
your students to always enter music with
a positive mind set!
Music Points!
Ask your students about their music
points! Points will be earned by classes
based on behavior in music class. In
every music class there is a possibility of
five points. If we had a great day, all five
