Starts off really well, but kind of loses steam around the halfway point and gets overextended. That third quarter really
doesn't work too well, and then it mostly kind of limps to the end trying to recover it. The problem is they clearly tried
to extend it longer and also didn't have the ending fully planned out in advance. A bunch of things just don't really
make sense, but you can kind of sort of say you could see it coming. It's just they kept trying to top themselves and
keep building more mystery but there's only so much of that you can do, and so many false leads that the reader will
either think is silly and see coming anyway or doesn't really make sense. But that first half is just really great.

Reminds me in some ways of Promised Neverland. Epic first arc, strong second, and then just can't really keep it
going.

Still very much worth reading, the chapters also get a lot smaller as it goes on so it starts to get a lot quicker.

WOW 10/10. This is one of the greatest mystery manga's I've ever read. The whole concept of revenge, identity, and
atonement is amazing. Every time the mystery seemed to come to an end, another path reveals itself and all the stuff
you thought you had figured out were lost again. The ending was just great as well with an awesome line. "Good
things never happen to me, I just got my hands full trying to survive. A peak manga. (Not better than monster because
I'm biased)

Art is clean and the plot twists will keep you reading! As the author's first serialized work, the story is engaging and
nicely reveals bits of the mystery without dragging it out, with a solid ending. Explores themes of identity and

Overall, this was a very enjoyable story. I still believe that the first half or so was the best half, it really did peak around
the time just before his arrest. Even so, the second half of the story wasn't bad. And the ending was very bittersweet.
For their first serialized work, it really left an impression. I can't wait to see what they'll bring out next.

Really recommend this, if anyone reading these comments sees this and are still unsure.

Also, RIP Youko. Probably the biggest tragedy of the entire manga.

That was a really good first serialization. A little rough but now that the mangaka both have the experience of one

Really good first 1/3. But kinda went downhill from there. Maybe that's the limit of the author for the moment. I hope he
improves from this work, mystery writting wise. An info dump ending leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe that's just me.

good ending but still kinda lack luster , I was hoping the girl with bangs got with eiji but still an alright ending and ill
miss reading weekly. the last chapter gave off sequel vibes so maybe we could see another detective spin off?? idk
maybe just hopium but this series will always have a place in my heart I loved it. also the noses being so damn big for

I loved the manga.

It felt a bit weak at the end but that's okay, it wasn't bad at all.
It's better to binge read everything, waiting 1-2 weeks for a chapter (especially the latest chapters) felt underwhelming
and that's probably the reason why most people feel like it lost its pep towards the end.
One of my fav psychological manga for sure.

Ugh I HATE Yukimura Kyouka. So what if she has a tragic past? it doesnt give her the excuse to do a brutal copycat
murder SIMPLY Cuz she was jealous of Youko coz she was the one Hachinoi Eiji chose instead of herself. Her past isnt
as tragic as compared to the hell Youko went through and how she killed her. Ugh I hate her with every fiber of my
being. In fact, even if she wasnt shown as any kind of a hostile person in the beginning of the series, I still hated her
then for unknown reasons. WHY THE HELL IS SHE STILL ALIVE after Oto killed her??

She was the true tragic character of the series. She wasn't some hidden killer or plotting mastermind, she was just
a regular woman in a shitty situation that turned to prostitution and couldn't escape. When she finally found a
person she loved and was on the cusp of getting away, she was brutally tortured and murdered over something she
had nothing to do with, had zero control over. I think it speaks to the writing in the first half of the story that all
these chapters later, we still care about her.
