LESSON 1

LINES
GET SET
Here is a line. Write your name on it.

Look at your name.


Every letter in your name is written using lines.
Your name is made up of many lines.

TUNE IN

A pencil makes lines. Ballpens, markers, crayons and chalk make lines, too.
Many other things can make lines.

A knife can make lines on a surface.

Your finger can make lines on sand.

A jetplane can make lines in the sky.

Connecting Lines
What you need:
Oslo paper, a set of pentel pens, pencil
What to do:

1. Using pencil, place one dot anywhere on the oslo paper.


2. Add another dot placing it far from the first dot.
3. Continue adding more dots but making sure they are not too close to one another.

4. When you have at least 15 dots, get a marker pen of any color and make straight lines from one dot to another
until you reach the fifth dot.
Example:

5. Get another color and connect another 5 dots. You may repeat connecting dots.

6. Continue doing these until you have connected every dot to other dots. Can you see the colorful lines on the
oslo paper.
LESSON 2

SHAPES
GET SET
How many bubbles do you see?
Draw more bubbles in the water.

What is the shape of the bubbles?

TUNE IN
The shape of the bubbles is round like a circle.
A circle is a kind of shape. There are other shapes.
Read the name of each shape.
WORK THESE OUT

ACTIVITY 1
Color the shapes in the picture. Each particular group of shape have the same color.

ACTIVITY 2
Trace along the broken lines to form shapes.

A Dream Place
What you need:
Oslo paper, a set of pentel pens, a box of crayons, pencil

What to do:
1. Look at these drawings. Study the simple shapes used to draw them.

2. Now, imagine a place you would like to be where you see trees, animals, grass, plants and flowers.
3. Draw this dream place using only simple shapes as you see in number 1. Make your drawing using the pencil to
make light lines on the paper.
4. When you think you have completed your picture, use the pentel pens to trace the outlines of your shapes.
5. Use crayons to color inside the shapes.

COLORS
GET SET
What makes a flower garden pleasing to our eyes?

If all the flowers on


earth are either red or yellow, can they still make our surroundings beautiful?

Flowers are part of God’s blessings. They make our homes wonderful to live in.

Color Fun
What you need:
oslo paper, a set if marking pens

What to do:
1. Starting with any color, make a spiral line on the oslo paper.
2. Using another color, make another spiral line next to the first spiral you made.
3. Continue doing this until the whole surface is covered with spiral lines of different colors.
4 You can use big and small spirals.
5. You can also make your spirals meet and overlap each other
6. You may repeat a color as often as you wish.

More About
Colors
GET SET
Every person belongs to a family.
Just like people, every color belongs to a family.
What are the colors of the Philippine flag? Use them to color this flag.
The colors of our flag belong to the same family.

TUNE IN

Red, yellow and blue belong to a family. They are called primary colors.
The primary colors are very important . All the other colors come from them.

Name objects having red, yellow or blue color

Red, yellow and blue can be mixed to produce another group of colors called the secondary colors. The secondary colors
are orange, green and violet.

Name objects having orange, green and violet color.

Here’s how to mix the primary colors to produce the secondary colors. Color each square with your crayon.

Rearrange the letters to make the names of the secondary colors.

Color Search
What you need:
old magazines, 1/8 illustration board, glue , a pair of scissors

What to do:
1. Look for colored pages in old magazines.
2. Cut out small patches of the secondary colors. You can have small irregular shapes as shown below.

Be sure not to include any figure or shape of objects. You must have only the patches of orange, green and violet.
4. Arrange all your colored cut-outs on the black side of the illustration board.
5. Once you feel happy with your design, glue each shape on the illustration board.

LESSON 12

TEXTURE
GET SET
Have you seen a live crocodile?
How do you think you will feel if you touch its skin? Why?

TUNE IN

Some objects are good to touch, others are not. What you feel when you touch an object is called texture.

Some objects may also feel hard or soft. The hardness or softened of and object also gives a feeling of texture.

WORK THESE OUT

Activity 1:
Color the soft objects blue and the hard objects red.
Activity 2:

Cross out the one that does not belong to the group.

WRAP UP

Texture Display
What you need:
1/8 illustration board, glue, a collection of small objects with different textures ( feather, cork, shell, twig, cotton, pebble,
velvet, lace, etc. )

What to do:
1. Arrange your collection of objects on the black side of the illustration board.
2. When you feel happy about your arrangement, glue each object to board.
