Thank you for purchasing the BC ROBO-8001RFID.

Manual types
This manual is divided into the two types below based on the work contents.

Manual name Description


OPERATION MANUAL Describes how to install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and
perform maintenance inspection of the instrument. Also
provides precautions that must be noted in advance and
information related to ensuring safety.
The operator should read this manual before operating the
instrument and refer to it as required to ensure safe
operation.
SOFTWARE MANUAL Describes information related to operating the software of the
(This manual) instrument.

How to read this manual


The manual uses the conventions below.

Convention Description
Bold Bold type indicates either a message appears on a display or a key action
which should be entered through the touch panel display.
CAUTION Caution statements without a warning symbol indicate that physical
damage (*1) may occur.
NOTE The note symbol indicates important information that requires your
attention.

*1: Physical damage encompasses a wide range from damages to buildings and furnishings
to injuries to domestic animals and pets.

1. OPERATION
1.1 Power ON the instrument

1. Turn on the panel PC.

2. The ROBO program starts automatically


Windows starts.

3. Instrument conducts initialization


automatically. Wait until finish initialization.

4. Press PRINT. Instrument starts tube


selecting and labeling once received data
from HIS/LIS.

1.2 Stop printing
The stop is used to stop printing tubes and labels.
There are two stop options.
It is recommended to select STOP normally. It takes one minute to complete printing of the
tube currently being processed.

Item Details
STOP The instrument waits to stop until printing of the tube currently being
processed is completed.
CLOSE The instrument stops printing immediately.

1.3 Stop ROBO


In case you want to stop printing immediately, select CLOSE.
You need to reinitialize the instrument when you want to use it again.

1.4 Power OFF the instrument

1. Press CLOSE from the main screen.

2. Press CLOSE from the menu screen.

3. Press Shut down to shut down the PC. Date the instrument performs auto start-up will
be highlighted by green color. (Only the instrument configured auto start-up function.)

4. Instrument conducts initialization automatically.

This chapter provides an overview of the program.
The figure below shows which submenu belongs to which task bar. All of the functions of the
submenu will be described in the later part of this document.

Status Shows the status of the instrument and the printing progress.
Printer Gauge showing the status of printer.

Message Shows warning or error message.
Instrument control Major icons for controlling the instrument.

Search patient Searches patient data.

2.1.1 Status field


The status field shows the status of the instrument and the printing progress.

Status Details
Total Total number of patients processed and unprocessed.
OPD Number of outpatient processed.
IPD Number of inpatient processed.
N OPD Number of outpatient unprocessed.
N IPD Number of inpatient unprocessed.

2.2.2 Printer status field
The gauge indicates printer status and amount of labels inside the printer.
Level is shown in three levels. If printer has trouble, warning sign is displayed.

No troubles occurred.

Warning (ie) No label

Troubles occurred.

2.2.3 Traychanger status field


The gauge indicates Traychanger status.
Level is shown in two levels. If Traychanger has trouble, blue turns into yellow.

2.2.4 Rest tube field
The gauge indicates rough amount of tubes inside the drawer.
Amount level is shown in four levels. If drawer is almost empty, warning sign is displayed.

Tubes are enough in the drawer.

Tubes are almost empty.

No tube. Replenish tubes.

2.2.5 Message field


The message field shows warning or error message.
Background color turns to yellow when there is warning. The instrument can still work even
the background color becomes yellow.

2.2.6 Instrument control field
Major icons to control the instrument
Printer mode, tray output and unit separation can be set by SET.

Icon Details
STOP The instrument waits to stop until printing of the tube currently being
processed is completed.
SET Alternatives printing mode, tray output and unit separation.
CLOSE The instrument stops printing immediately.

SET
You can select the operation mode, printer mode and tray output. Place a checkmark in the
check box to activate the mode.

The operation modes are as below.


Mode Details
AUTO Printing starts automatically with first in first out rule when data is
received from LIS/HIS.
P.OPD Priority mode prioritizes outpatient tubes. Inpatient tubes will be
dispensed if there is no outpatient data in the worklist.
OPD Only outpatient tubes will be processed. Inpatient tubes will never be
processed.
IPD Only inpatient tubes will be processed. Outpatient tubes will never be
processed.

The printer modes are as below.


Mode Details
AUTO Tubes will be labeled and dispensed in a tray.
Tray + Manual Tubes without label and manual labels will be dispensed in a tray.
Manual Manual labels will be dispensed in a tray. No tubes will be dispensed.

The tray output modes are as below.


Mode Details
AUTO All trays go to the tray stocker.
ON All trays go to horizontal output.
OFF The instrument reads the inpatient/outpatient code in the LIS/HIS data,
and then sorts the trays either to the tray stocker or horizontal output.

SEPARATION
The instrument is designed to minimize the downtime in case of mechanical trouble. Place a
checkmark in the check box to deactivate the problematic unit to avoid conflicts with the
other good working units.

Separation Separate the entire unit
Labeling Separate the entire labeling unit
Printer Separate unit printer. You can select either (A) or (B) or (C) in system
setting master.
(A) All tubes coming from the problematic printer will go to good working
printer.
(B) Tubes without label and manual labels will be dispensed in a tray.
(C) Manual labels will be dispensed in a tray. No tubes will be
dispensed.
Carriage Separate carriage unit
Discharge Separate horizontal conveyer unit
Delivery Separate elevator unit
D. Detect Separate direction detect unit
Camera Separate camera unit
Supply Separate supply unit. Tubes contained in the problematic drawer will not
be selected. Labels from those tubes will be printed from manual printer.

2.2.7 Search patient field
You can search patient data.

1. Enter the details in the search box and place a checkmark in the check box either EG,
IPD and OPD. Press Search.

2. Worklist will be displayed.

Icon Details
Update the data from LIS/HIS.

The icon on the display moves to the left field.

The icon on the display moves to the right field.

Move to the bottom of the data.

Move to the top of the data.

Move to the next page.

2.2.8 Option mode field


You can select an option mode depending on the workflow or in case of mechanical trouble.

Icon Details
Individual You can select optional modes.
SEARCH Patient search window will be opened. You can search the patient and
check his status.
ERROR Error record window will be opened. You can see error record.

Details
You can open the worklist.

1. Select Details through the Individual icon.

2. Worklist will be displayed.

Refresh the data from LIS/HIS.

Reprint
You can select and reprint tubes and labels through worklist.

1. Select Reprint through the Individual icon.

2. The Reprint screen will be displayed.

S.Print
You can select and print tubes and labels which are not yet processed.

1. Select S.Print through the Individual icon.

2. Worklist will be displayed.

Update
You can select tubes and labels which are not yet processed and change status
“unprocessed” to “processed”.

2. Worklist will be displayed.

IPD
The IPD is used to select inpatient tubes and labels.

1. Select IPD through the Individual icon.

2. A list of the wards will be displayed. Select ward group to be printed.

NOTE:
If your Mst MAIN does not have a ward code setting, this function cannot be used.

2.2 OTHERS
Others has applications to increase maintainability and functionality.

2.2.1 Delete
This menu is used to delete past patient data in the database.

NOTE:
Delete Qtk data is not available for the overseas market.

2.2.2 Update
Select Refresh to change unprocessed data to processed.

Icon Details
Data can be search by EMG, IPMC, P#, Order #, Date.
Enter the details in the search box. Press Do to search.
Refresh worklist.

Close the screen.

The cursor moves to the left field.

The cursor moves to the right field.

Move to the bottom of the data.

Move to the top of the data.

Move to the next page.

Move to the previous page.

Multiple data can be selected and held.

A data range can be selected and held.

Release the data held with Select and Range Sel.

2.2.3 Search
Patient search window will be opened.

2.2.4 Master Backup


This menu is used to create a backup file for all of the software settings (Mst MAIN) and
restore.

Icon Details
BackUp Creates a backup file.
Restore Overwrites the backup file to the current settings. Select the date of the
backup folder that you want to overwrite.
List Opens the backup folder.
