II- PROJECT SUMMARY:


Digital literacy encompasses a number of 21st century skills related to using
technology effectively and appropriately. Currently, only two (2) out of seven (7) teachers of
Jose Frencillo Elementary School have background in basic digital literacy in basic digital
literacy,Thus, the undersigned to undergo a capacity-building on digital literacy among her
co-teachers, to develop their digital teaching competence, increase confidence using digital
tools as well as enhancing their digital skills that could help them deliver the basic education
with the use of digital tech and help their pupils to become responsible digital citizen. Target
of time of this project is on February 24-25, 2021 and will cost P3,250.00 pesos that are
come from partnership.

III- PROJECT BACKGROUND
The current situation of education in the context of pandemic has caused the
confinement of people and with it, the closure of centers and the transfer of face-to-face
class interaction has shifted to different kinds of learning modalities, to ensure the continued
provision of learning opportunities to its learners( DepEd Order No. 012 s. 2020). Aside from
modular learning approach, another learning modality Department of Education has
programed is the provision to use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that
can contribute a meaningful learning experience to the students, while they are in the
comfort of their homes. One of the factors affecting the execution of online teaching among
the teachers in facilitating ICT, is the lack of digital skills and knowledge. Hence, the need to
develop such skills through trainings should be brought to the fore. As a classroom teacher
and an ICT school coordinator, I have an abundant evidence that students’ active learning
takes place when we integrate digital activities in their lessons. Consequently, the
undersigned propose undergo a capacity-building on digital literacy among her co-teachers
to develop their digital teaching competence, increase the confidence of using digital tools as
well as to enhance their digital skills in delivering a better basic education among the pupils,
thereby helping the pupils to become responsible digital learners and in minimizing the
digital divide.

IV. PROJECT OBJECTIVES:


The overall objectives of this proposed project is to provide teachers of Jose Frencillo
Elementary School basic knowledge on the use of digital technology that could provide prior
skills in integrating digital skills in teaching.
Specific Objectives:
1. Train 5 of 7 teachers the basic digital skills that can develop their digital teaching
competence.
2. Update the teachers on new trends in teaching using the web and other form of
digital technology
3. Teachers can integrate digital activities in their lessons
