AGRIPINA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

INTRODUCTION

Gulayan sa Paaralan Program aims to promote proper nutrition and mitigate hunger
among learners. Eating right amount of fruits and vegetables will help develop the body and
mind of the students, that is why all schools are encourage to have this kind of program.

Agripina Elementary School implimented the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP)


through the GPP Organizational Structure headed by the school head Ray Harvey L.
Dominice as Program Chairman , Mr. Jorald D.Tuvilla as Program Coordinator and the rest
of the teacher as member of the Committee On Linkages And Partnership, Committee On
Ways And Means, Committee On Physical Appearance, Committee On Land
Preparation, Committee On Planting, Committee On Harvest And Audit and Grade
Level Representatives.

Each committee has performed their functions in collaboration with the stakeholders,
General PTA members, the parents, Brgy. Council, DSWD and the 4P’s Beneficiaries.

Indeed, the GPP has targeted the objectives through the effort of the committees which
resulted to the successful implementation of the program.

The learners were trained to grow vegetables using containers like sack,
mineral bottles, and others, during the pandemic. During the modular learning the pupils
learned the value of recycling by planting some common vegetables using plastic bottles.

Learners were also encouraged to do their backyard gardening at home and apply the
good practices of gardening learned at school, as part of their responsibilities in sharing and
implements consumption of vegetables among their community for a better healthy and
balance diet.

I. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
A. PRE- IMPLEMENTATION PHASE

 Teachers training on Organic Vegetable Production


 Organized a committee for the GPP

 Land preparation teachers initiated cleaning of the garden area and


cultivation of the soil.
 Select the area or space for planting.
 Identify different variety of vegetables, fruit bearing tress and medicinal
plants based on considerable and available factors like the soil, weather
condition, and area.
 Encourages the pupils to participate in planting using container gardening
to promote the Gulayan sa Tahanan Program during the modular learning
modality.
B. DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE

 Gathered bamboo in making fences and walls.


 Construct garden design with the help of the committees and Brgy.
Council
 Created compost pit, basket compost, aquaponics, and virmi compost.

C. POST-DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE

 Requested the DSWD with the 4’P’s beneficiaries to participate the


Bayanihan Sa Gulayan to enhance the vegetable garden.
 Continue on planting variety of vegetables as well as the gardening
management for the sustainability of the program.
 Encourages the learners in caring and maintaining the project.
