First Semester, A.Y. 2022 - 2023
PHILOSOPHY

SDSSU believes that higher education is an instrument for the improvement of life through democratized access to quality education in the development of
a well-rounded person.

At the end of the course, the students shall be able to:

1. Demonstrate content knowledge of science for secondary including its nature, content, conceptual framework, domains of learning, pedagogical
approaches, and research-based knowledge and principles of teaching and learning the subject
2. Demonstrate pedagogical content knowledge that promotes scientific, technological and environmental literacies,
3. Develop and use varied teaching and learning resources, including ICT, in teaching science and
4. Design, select, organize and use appropriate and varied learning processes and assessment strategies consistent with the curriculum requirements.

Course Description :

This course enables science teachers to understand the intent, content and structure of secondary science curriculum, and equip them with principles and
elements of instructional planning, constructivist approach in teaching and learning, and various instructional and assessment strategies for the secondary science.

Contact Hour s : 3 hours every week for 18 weeks or 54 hours in a semester
