Lesson Summary
 Observing order in performing a series of operations
means following operations in correct succession to get the
correct answer.
 To perform a series of operations:
Perform operations inside grouping symbols
first.
Multiply and divide in the order in which they
appear.
Add and subtract in the order in which they
occur.
 PMDAS may be used as a mnemonic to easily memorize
the order of operations, P stands for parenthesis, M and D
for multiplication and division, and A and S for addition
and subtraction.
 Following the above order of operations is important to
arrive at the correct result.
