1. Invitation
“Pune District Chess Circle” has the honor to invite all Chess Players from the State of Maharashtra to
participate in the “Maharashtra State U-7 Open & Girls Chess Championship 2022”.
2. Recognition
The championship is held under the auspices of Maharashtra Chess Association & organized by Pune
District Chess Circle and will serve as a selection event for the National U-7 Chess Championship 2022.
3. Selection of Maharashtra Team
Top 2 boys and Top 2 girls from this age group will be selected to represent Maharashtra State in
forthcoming National U-7 Chess Championship for the Same Age Group. Players participating in this
championship will only be allowed to participate in National U-7 Chess Championship 2022, Udaipur,
Rajasthan.
4. Eligibility Criteria
Only the players completing the following conditions are eligible to play the said chess
championship.
• Born on and after – 1st January 2015
• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to participate in this tournament.
All Necessary Precaution and the Standard Operating Procedures with respect to COVID-19
must be followed strictly. Wearing Mask is Compulsory, hands must be Sanitized, and social
distancing has to be Maintained.
• All entries should be strictly routed through the respective District Chess Associations
affiliated to MCA. No direct entries shall be entertained in any circumstances.
• Each District Association is entitled to field 2 players in Open & 2 in Girls in each of the Under-7
category.
• ‘Selected Player’ means the player selected from the respective District Selection Events.
Besides the above, the District Associations may enter an unlimited number of players as a
Donor Entry.

5. Date of Birth Certificates

• Each participant must produce a valid certificate to prove his / her age. School ID card / Aadhar
Card won’t be accepted as DOB proof. Certificates should preferably be from the Panchayat,
Municipal Council or Corporation obtained soon after birth. Players without date of birth
certificates will not be allowed to participate.
• The date of birth certificates registered within one year of the birth of the child alone will be
recognized and allowed to participate. No District Chess association shall recommend any
player who doesn’t come under the above criteria.
• If any doubt arises about the claimed age of a player, the Tournament Committee has the right
to refer the player during the championship for a due evaluation of age by competent medical
experts. A player if declared over-age by such experts shall not continue in the championship
and the matter shall be reported to AICF. Protest about the age of players may be made to the
Chief Arbiter in writing along with a fee of Rs. 500/- per player. This will not be refunded. No
Protest about over age of a player will be entertained after 2nd round of the championship.

6. Registration and Entry Fee

• District Selected Player: Rs. 800/- • Donor Entry: Rs. 1,500/-

• Players can pay the entry fee directly to the following account through NEFT / UPI and must
upload the transaction / receipt while filling online. Please note that cash deposit in account
will not be entertained.
• Last Date of receipt of entries: 23rd June 2022 up to 6pm.
• Entries will be accepted with late fee of Rs. 300 up to 24th June 2022, 6pm.
• All entries be Regular / Special should be routed through respective District Chess
Association.

9. AICF Registration
All participants in the State Championship should be registered with AICF for the year 2022-23.
Online AICF Registration is available on the website www.aicf.in those who have already
obtained registration cards from AICF Website for 2022-23 may be asked to show the copy of
the same. No entry will be accepted without AICF Player’s Registration for 2022-23 and such
player’s will not be paired.
10. System of Play
Tournament will be played with Swiss system. The format may be changed to other system in
emergency cases with the discretion of Chief Arbiter & Tournament Director with prior approval
from MCA & AICF.
11. Time Control
Digital clock 30 minutes each plus 10 second increment per move from number one
12. Tiebreaks
The latest tiebreak rules as set by AICF will be enforced in the championship.
13. Appeals
The Chief Arbiter Decision will be final & binding to all. In case of any discrepancy, the matter
will be handed over to Appeals Committee which will be formed during the Players’ meeting
14. Tournament Committee
The tournament committee consisting of the General Secretary. PDCC or his representative.
and representative from another district to be nominated by the PDCC shall decide on all
emergency matters. Before the start of First Round.

15. Withdrawals
Any player may withdraw before the 1st round pairing and the entry fee will be refunded after
deducting Rs.300/- as administrative fee.
Entry fee will not be refunded after the 1st round pairing is done.
A player may withdraw from the tournament at any stage after informing the Chief Arbiter in
writing.

16. Communication Devices & wrist watches of players

Players are instructed not to wear wrist watches while playing. If any communication device is found
with the player during play in the tournament hall, player will be declared lost.

17. Accommodation
The selected players will be given dormitory type free accommodation by the organizers while
the donor entry players need to cater the cost of accommodation on their own.
