Engine Completion Information

TO: ALL DEUTZ PARTS MANAGERS / ENGINE SALES MANAGERS

RE: NEW ENGINE COMPLETION POLICY AND PROCEDURES

(EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2000)

DEUTZ Central Parts has made significant changes, directed at improving the service level of the Engine Completion
Department. The EC Department is now separate from spare parts, including inventory and personnel. The new EC
catalog has been updated with the latest engine options, plus a picture index for ease of application. We are pre-
assembling the fast moving kits to fill your orders faster and improve delivery time.
We will no longer stock kits that have low demand. That is not to say you can’t get them, it just means longer lead times
for delivery. Our intent is to standardize as many SA kits as possible, and that is where we need your help. The
Distributor Engine Sales and Parts Manager need to work hand in hand to forecast SA kit requirements for the best
possible price and delivery.

Major changes from previous policy:

Use of kits
Use of kits for anything other than new engine modification is not permitted. Application of SA kits is subject to random
audits by DEUTZ Corporation.

Order Types / Discounts/ Delivery

Stock Orders = 40% discount, 90 day delivery
Regular Orders = 30% discount, 2-3 day delivery

Stock Code (SPL)

Kits marked in Engine Completion catalog as “SPL” are special order only and require 90-day lead time.
Note: SPL codes will be added or deleted as demand dictates.

Order Entry
All kit orders must be faxed only (no phone orders) to the Engine Completion Department. Service parts cannot be
mixed. Kits cannot be ordered on the Internet.

Please distribute to the DEUTZ Engine Sales Manager and Parts Manager (1) each, New Engine
Completion Catalog and Policy and Procedures.
Note: FM1008 EC kits were not included in catalog at time of printing and will be provided at a later date.
