Introductory Message

For the Facilitator:

Welcome to the Computer Science STE 8 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on
Creating Vector Graphics with Different Drawing Tools.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator, in helping the learners meet the standards
set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints
in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.
In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of the module:

Notes to the Teacher

This contains helpful tips or strategies that
will help you in guiding the learners.

As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module.
You also need to keep track of the learners’ progress while allowing them to manage their own
learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do the
tasks included in the module.

For the Learner:

What’s In
In our previous lesson, you have learned that CorelDraw is creatively used
to create designs. Also, we explore the environment that shows the different parts
of the CorelDraw that are needed in making a design.
As a review, identify which toolbars of CorelDraw is being described by the
statement below. You can choose your answer to the words listed on the box.

Menu Bar Title Bar Standard Toolbar

Docker Toolbox Drawing Page

1. It is your printable work area.

2. It contains available commands relevant to a specific tool.
3. It shows the title of the current document you are working.
4. It is a bar with tools for creating, filling, and modifying objects in the drawing.
5. A detachable bar that contains shortcuts to menu and other commands.

4
What’s New
Now that you are familiar with CorelDraw environment, its toolbars, and
the working area, you are now ready to explore the toolbox that are mainly used in
creating vector graphics. But before that let us perform the activity below to check
your prior knowledge.
Arrange the following letters to form a new word. As a clue for your answer,
look at the given pictures.

Creating Vector Graphics with the

Drawing Tools

What is It

CorelDraw lets you create vector graphics. It is a design generally made of

lines, shapes, and effects. Logos, signages and other printed designs are some of
the graphic designs that can be created using CorelDraw, and these are all possible
because of the drawing tools. In using drawing tools, you can create a graphic design
of your own.
The toolbox contains tools used in creating & modifying objects. Some of the
tools are visible by default while others are in flyouts that can be seen at the lower-right
corner of the button. These flyouts are the sub-tools for more options for editing.
