MESSAGE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR

It is a matter of great privilege and honor for me to record my message as the Vice Chancellor of
this iconic seat of learning for the Prospectus 2021-22. It is the dream of almost every youth of
this region to become a proud student of this great institute. Although it`s life as a university is
hardly more than a decade, as a college it has served the nation for over a hundred years, now. The
historic role of lslamia college Peshawar in making the dream of Pakistan come true and
subsequently, it's contribution towards building and strengthening the nation are indeed a unique
and golden chapters of our rich history. Through hard work and dedication, we are continuously
progressing towards a bright future. In the broader spectrum of a flourishing university, students,
parents and the nation at large expect us to perform our new role with the same excellence and
enhanced competence. We are well aware of these expectations and are ready to fulfill them with
every passing day. In this highly competitive era, one have to prepare for the future, with all its
opportunities and challenges. New milestones are being set in academics and research, and we
have to achieve them with confidence, honesty, devotion and sense of duty & responsibility. As

Covid-19 has not only brought challenges but we see it as an opportunity to prepare our students
against any natural calamity in the near future. Islamia College Peshawar has successfully
launched online classes in the context of Covid-19. Rendering more than hundred years of service
to this great nation, the lslamia College is now producing M.Phil/Ph.D graduates in different fields.

Note: Eligibility for admission in Science group (Pre-Med, Pre-Engg and Computer Science) is
grade A while for other categories it is grade B minimum. In Theology 40 seats will be filled on
merit, minimum 2nd division.

i) Pre- Medical: Biology, Physics, Chemistry
ii) Pre-Engineering: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
iii) Compute Science Computer Science, Physics, Maths

THEOLOGY (F.I.Th): Eligibility: SSC with Science/Arts


English, Urdu, Islamic Education, Pakistan Studies and the following three subjects:
i) Islamiyat ii) Arabic iii) Islamic History & culture Part

ARTS & HUMANITIES: Eligibility: SSC with Science/Arts

Arts
Besides English, Urdu, Islamic Education and Pakistan Studies, which are compulsory, one
combination may be taken from the following two set of subjects.
i. Two subjects from Civics, Geography, Archaeology, Library Science, Islamic
Studies, Sociology and Psychology
ii. One subject from Languages Pashto/Arabic/English (Advance)

Note: Less than 10 students in optional subjects shall not be allowed and the students would be
adjusted in other optional subjects. Subject to availability with BISE Peshawar. Non-Muslim
students are allowed to take Civics instead of Islamic Education

HOSTELS / STUDENTS ACCOMMODATION
There are eleven (11) glorious hostels on the Campus of the historic College for the residential
and academic support of the Intermediate and BS level students. Admissions in hostels are strictly
based upon merit for each and every category and discipline of the students.

However, there are limited / hostel seats for the students of the self-support programs. Fee structure is given as under:

All the hostels have a unique and specific routine for the overall academic growth and character building of the
students. Discipline is the hallmark of the hostel system.

FOREIGN STUDENTS:
The students should have passed SSC/O Level Exam from school located abroad. The
proof of foreign nationality shall be mandatory. Equivalence certificate frrm IBCC
Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education shall be compulsory.

ELIGIBILITY FOR BALOCHISTAN QUOTA:


Students applying for Balochistan quota shall apply through Director Colleges Quetta
Balochistan. Student must have passed SSC from School located within Balochistan.
Nominations will be forwarded on merit by Director Colleges Quetta Balochistan to
Islamia College Peshawar.

HAFIZ-E-QURAN:
A candidate who claims to be a Hafiz-e-Quran shall appear before a committee to judge his
credentials. The qualified candidate will get 20 marks extra (to be added with matric marks in the merit

list). Attendance before the committee is mandatory. There is no specific quota for Hafiz-e-Quran.
Candidate must give four correct answers out of five questions.

TRANSPORT/PICK AND DROP CHARGES


Pick and drop facility is available for intermediate boarder students from hostel
to College. Rs. 6000/- will be charged from boarders for pick and drop to the
college.
