● In this task you have to choose one of the three pictures/photos presented, give
reasons for your choice and then describe and interpret the picture (you have to
produce a longer monologue of about 5 minutes).

● In this task it is particularly important that you present a detailed and extensive
description of a picture in a clearly structured way, so that your partner can form a
picture.

● HOW TO PRACTICE AT HOME ???

○ Look at the pictures
○ Write a description and interpretation for each picture.
○ Recite the text aloud at home and pay attention to the time. (to get a feel for
how much text you need to fill 3-5 minutes of review time).
● You have built up your description and interpretation well and that your arguments
are easy to understand.
● Take notes on your ideas and suggestions.
● Then give this mini-lecture/monologue by speaking it aloud.
● Be aware of the time! You should speak freely for five minutes.
● Include a few summary sentences at the end of your presentation.

● Can describe his/her thoughts and feelings.

● Can make assumptions about facts, reasons and consequences.
● Can talk about current and abstract topics and express his/her thoughts and opinions
on them.

● Specific requirements for this task:

- Detailed and elaborate description of pictorial information;
- Clearly structured monologue, so that the partner can "get the picture";
- Be able to justify interpretation argumentatively, respond to questions/objections in
a way that is appropriate to the partner and the situation.
