Design of Development Length for Beams

DEVELOPMENT LENGTHS FOR MAIN REINFORCING BARS

For the interpretation of the tabulation of development lengths, development lengths for tension
bars at the top are for reinforcing bars at the ends of a beam where the moments have negative
values and will take the value of reinforcement location factor, Ψt, as 1.3. While development
lengths for tension bars at the bottom are for reinforcing bars at the middle of a beam where the
moments have positive values and will take the value of reinforcement location factor, Ψt, as 1.
