System PlantPAx DCS 
These release notes describe version information for PlantPAx DCS, version 4.5 (released 9/2018).

Features
This release includes the following system features.

Virtual Image Templates for PlantPAx DCS System Version 4.5

The virtual image templates come with necessary operating system and Rockwell Automation software to simplify the deployment of servers and
workstations. The templates include the adoption of Windows 10 for a workstation element.

Server Consolidation

The PASS-C server consolidates the PASS, AppServ-Historian, AppServ-Info SQL, and AppServ Asset Management servers.
Supports systems up to 2,000 I/O
Delivered as a bootable USB drive to be installed on a physical machine
Also available as a downloadable ISO file
Compatible with other server-based elements

Redundant PASS Server Enhancements

Enhanced management of PASS Server redundancy includes:
Automatic copy from primary to secondary server at initial creation
Ability to replicate active to standby, even if the active server is the secondary server
Services automatically restart after replication without reboot
Project edits automatically saved to both servers
Ability to force failover programmatically via command or in View Studio
Built-in display of redundancy status at runtime as a function or display status
Improved FactoryTalk Alarms and Event uptime and alarm annunciation behavior during redundancy change over events

New Integrations Added with PlantPAx DCS System Version 4.5

Version 4.5 of the PlantPAx DCS System adds integration with:
ControlFLASH Plus software
Enhanced Function Block Editor and Structure Text Editor in the Studio 5000 Logix Designer application
FactoryTalk Network Manager software
System health from FactoryTalk Historian software
ThinManager software
Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) support via1756-EN2TP devices

Security Features

Role based security (now configurable)
Area based security
Line-of-Sight security (FactoryTalk View SE only)

Add-On Instruction Changes

The common mode Add-On Instruction, P_Mode, is replaced by a new command source model using the P_CmdSrc instruction.
P_ValveC was modified so it can use pulse outputs to drive open and drive closed without a position feedback.
P_DIn has a new input for I/O Fault and an I/O Fault alarm
P_DoseWS and P_DoseFM were combined into Single P_Dose Add-On Instruction
P_PIDE was enhanced so that the CV can be configured in engineering units. Also, the setpoint has a rate limiting and a new ‘Ramp Wizard’ function.

L_CPU_5x80 for Logix 5380, 5480 and 5580 controllers
P_PF755 for PowerFlex 755TL and PowerFlex 755TR drives
I_EH_Promass300_500 for Endress+Hauser Promass 300 and Promass 500 flowmeters on EtherNet/IP
 I_EH_Promag300_500 for Endress+Hauser Promag 300 and Promag 500 magnetic flowmeters on EtherNet/IP
I_EH_Heartbeat for the Heartbeat Verification function on Endress+Hauser EtherNet/IP instruments

Display Changes

Displays and display elements have configurable decimal places for data, including control variables, process variables, and setpoints.
Displays no longer use the FM20.DLL file.
Help displays have been converted to PDF documents.
The HMI displays were redesigned to align with current industry visualization standards.
Library icons were redesigned to align with Rockwell Automation standards.
