001 Principal Contractor Appointment
In terms of this appointment you are required to perform the following duties:
1. Ensure that all work is being performed in accordance with the provisions of the
Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 and all incorporated Regulations;
2. Ensure that the provisions of the Health and Safety Plan, Fall Protection Plan and
all related Safe Operating Procedures are complied with during the duration of the
contract;
3. Ensure that all staff employed on the contract receives training and are competent
in the performance of their respective tasks;
4. Enforce discipline and ensure that staff and visitors comply with the site rules and
all related health and safety rules and procedures; and
5. Regularly conduct risk assessments and inspections as to ensure that the health
and safety of staff and visitors are ensured.
