10. Lifelong-Learning Opportunities

While the course seeks to shed light on the emergent global phenomena, structures, and processes,
“The Contemporary World (GED105)” offers reality-driven, lifelong learning opportunities to students and
learners from various disciplines and programs of the University. Equipped with a multidisciplinary
foundation on globalization, students are expected to develop critical thinking and reflexivity, and imbibe
in themselves, as national and global citizens, a deep sense of commitment, responsibility, and
responsiveness to issues, crises, and challenges confronting the contemporary world. The course,
likewise, provides opportunities to share voices, re-examine individual and collective values and decisions,
and rethink their evolving role in the context of a democratic, equity-led, and people-centered development
for a sustainable world across regions and nation-states.
