REVIEW BRIDGERTON SEASON 2 / Juan Camilo Muñoz Benavides

Bridgerton Season 2 is the second part of the series Bridgerton. It is set in England, in the
century XXI. At this time, the nobility´s people usually had a ritual of presenting ladies to the
queen. With this activity the families found out suitors and defined them as married
situations. Bridgerton through the powerful Bridgerton family tries to represent the love of
this age. And the fortune (or misfortune) of being part of London society.

In the first part we saw the story of Daphne, the third of Bridgerton brothers and Simon, the
Duque. In this season, it is the turn of Anthony, the elder one. Now, Anthony is searching for
a wife. But it is complicated to find one.
Riding in a valley, Anthony met Miss
Sharma, sister of Miss Edwina. Miss
Edwina and Miss Sharma are Lady Mary’s
daughters. Lady Mary had been part of a
powerful family of London, The Sheffield’s,
until she escaped with her forbidden love to
India. In this season, they are traveling to
London from India to look for a husband for
Miss Edwina. By marrying an important boy
from London, Edwina could receive the
inheritance that the mother cannot. At first,
Anthony is interested in Edwina. He tries to take her attention with a lot of things. In the
horse race, when they were dancing, he even invited her to spend some days in his home.
We have to say that Miss Sharma doesn't like Anthony. She thinks that he only thinks in
prestige and can't provide real love to her sister.

The whole season is about the triangle love that is made by Anthony with the two sisters
ladies. Miss Sharma was hating the viscount first and along the series she began to love
him, her daughter is the contrary. Across the episodes we can watch how the love between
Miss Sharma and Anthony is growing. Sometimes this love is increasing so slowly and could
be boring. Although the focus on romance has been one of the greatest things in this
season. The sex scenes were too many in the first season, being sometimes uncomfortable
to watch. In this season, we do not have a lot of sex scenes, just the necessary ones.
Something highlightable about the Bridgeton’s sex is the focus on the feminine orgasm. It is
kind of a revolution in the way how to represent this kind of scene in the industry. Netflix is
being a pioneer.

Sometimes things happen in a predictable way. I think with a better plot and a few less
episodes will be even better the season. The anachronism problems are presented too in
this second part. Some people do not like those characters are black. Although this could be
an interesting and nice presentation of reality. Bridgerton is a really exquisite series in all the
ways. The characters are memorable, the environment is perfectly represented, and the
romance is implemented in a good way. This series deserves all that attention that it is
having.
