jeans, the rugged boot. This look screams
Americana. Perfect outfit for a casual work day at
the office. Pair it up with a matching brown belt and
some wool socks.

If you’re worried denim on denim, don’t. As long as

your chambray shirt is a lighter shade of blue than
your jeans, you’re good to go.

This is a beautiful example of mixing casual with

formal. The charcoal grey pants of the suit and
minimalist white sneaker are one of my favorite
combos lately. With dress codes relaxing, pairing
sneakers with suiting is not only acceptable, it’s
stylish as hell.

A minimalist leather jacket is the perfect key piece

to make this look. It’s edgy enough to make you look
cool, but restrained enough so you don’t look like
you’re trying to hard to actually look cool. In short,
it’s effortless.

I once interviewed my friend Dani, a jet

setting woman of the world who has
amazing taste and is drop dead gorgeous.

I asked her what she likes to see a guy wear

on a first date. Without hesitation she
responds, “A fitted pair of jeans and a nice
black boot.”

Black jeans are a great substitute for dress

pants. They’re dark enough to look serious,
but won’t make you look like you’re just
coming off work.

A blazer in this case is too dressed up

(especially if this is a first date.) A topcoat
blurs the lines a little bit, it has formal
details, but doesn’t scream “office”.

Pairing it with a button-up shirt will show

you put in some effort. Trust me, she’s
