Rules for ISME Student Chapter

The ISME aims at providing a common forum for exchanging the ideas, developments, and setting

up new directions in the broad field of Mechanical Engineering. It is introducing the ISME

Student Chapter which will help to connect more students to the vast professional world outside

their classroom. ISME believes having a Student Chapter in an institute rather than individual

membership will provide a platform for organizing workshops, events, competitions, industry

visits and showcase their work to outside world. Following are the list of rules along with the form

for making a Student Chapter,

1. There should be minimum of 10 student members in a chapter

2. There should be one faculty coordinator in a student chapter

3. Two students recommended by a student chapter can attend an ISME event free of

registration fees. Other members are anyhow getting discount because they are members

of ISME.

4. Networking (If needed ISME will help in providing speakers with no financial liability to

ISME)

5. ISME student chapters can organize an event or competition under the banner of ISME

6. After the balance sheet is created for the event, in case of any revenue is generated from

sponsorships etc. 30% would be transferred to ISME. The balance amount can be utilized

by the student chapter to further their activities in future.

7. Faculty coordinator should encourage students to submit paper to ISME journal

8. Activities of student chapter will be highlighted in the ISME website
