PRC 3301 Practicum 3 units (160 hours) Third Year; Summer

A. Course Description:

A specific literacy on upgraded technical and applied laboratory skills in the operation of
apparatuses/equipment available in the different industrial and research laboratories.

B. Course Objectives:

1. Put into practical application the principles learned in the classroom;

2. Work in the close association with research specialists and the tutolage of experts to
motivate them to pursue scientific researches both in the undergraduate and graduate
levels.

C. Guidelines and Regulations

The student enrolled in this course would be evaluated based on the following
components:

Practicum supervisor (evaluation): 70%

Faculty-in-charge (evaluation): 30%

The practicum supervisor is the person in charge of supervising the students in their respective
training institution/agency. They will provide evaluation to the students at the end of the
training. It shall constitute 70% of the grade.

For the remaining 30%, the grade shall be based from the assessment of the faculty-in-charge
(professor). It is further broken down into three criteria as detailed below:
A. Regular Attendance (40%)
The student is expected to complete the 160 hours schedule required of him of the
course. He/She needs to present a daily time record (DTR), properly filled out and duly
signed by the immediate supervisor. This form is to be submitted to the professor at
the end of the term. This will be given weight of 30% if the final grade of the student.

B. Written Report (30%)

The student is required to submit a weekly written report (WWR) duly signed by
his/her immediate supervisor. This is to be submitted to the professor at the end of the
week which will be given a 30% weight of the final grade.

C. Final Examination (30%)

At the end of the 160 hrs period, the student will be given a comprehensive final
examination by the professor. This will be given a weight of 30% of the final grade of
the student.
