THEORY/CONCEPT APPLICATION

Freud’s Components of the Personality It is important to understand the developing


personalities of the students because a teacher can
play a role in how those personalities change and alter.
We could allow them to exercise their minds, as we
know how to deal with their behaviors.

Freud’s Psycho-Sexual Stages of It gives the teachers an explanation of the students’


Development behavior that are manifested in the classroom. We can
assist them to solve or go through their inner conflicts
on these stages and give them ample attention in their
certain needs.

Erikson’s Psycho-Social Stages of This helps the teachers in understanding how the
Development environment plays a role in the learner’s
self-awareness, adjustment and developing identity in
the society as they assist them in their opportunity to
learn in making decisions for themselves.

Piaget’s Cognitive Stages of Development This theory can be a guide to the teachers when they
make their teaching strategies as the teachers develop
a better understanding of the students’ thinking or
cognitive level and teach with the routines and
instructional support with the application of the
appropriate technique.

Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development Teachers can apply this in achieving optimal moral
character for a positive and constructive learning
environment and understand students at different
stages as they can guide and help them to become the
best that they can be.

Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory This can also be a guide to the teacher in child’s
development. As the teacher and students interact,
then a relationship is created which helps facilitate
social interaction and active participation in the learning
tasks.

Brofenbrenner’s Bioecological Theory This allows the teachers to build fundamental


relationships with the students and create a
communication-rich classroom that involves the
guardian, since the child’s development is affected by
everything in their surrounding environment.
