INTRODUCTION

I am HUZEFA SATHIYAWALA from Pune, KOWNDWA DISTRICT of MAHARASTRA

INDIA. My father’s name is MOHAMMED KHAN ALI and my mother’s name is NAKIYA
MOHAMMED. From a young age I was a disciplined, social, participating, enthusiastic and
above average student. I was always fascinated by the machineries like car and aircraft engines,
wind turbines, robots etc. Whenever I travelled with my parents I used to stare at these machines
and always wondered how they worked, for me it was like magic. Since then, I fantasized about
learning how these things work. So, I decided to shape my career by opting Mechanical
engineering from the reputed MONASH UNIVERSITY, CLAYTON AUSTRALIA.

FAMILY BACKGROUND
My father is a SOFTWARE PROGRAMMER and has been working in Dubai for last 19 years.
He is currently working as a project lead in a company named Span group. My Mother is a
CERTIFIED YOGA INSTRUCTOR and has a work experience of 6 MONTHS. I am blessed
with a younger sister and her name is HUSAINA SATHIYAWALA. She studies in class 8 in
MANSUKHBHAI KOTHARI NATIONAL SCHOOL, PUNE.

ACADEMICS
I have cleared my secondary from MANSUKHBHAI KOTHARI NATIONAL SCHOOL, PUNE
with CBSE board in 2020 by scoring 82%. Later I completed my higher secondary from the
same school in 2022 by scoring 63%.

WHY I CHOOSE THIS COURSE

As I mentioned earlier, I was fascinated by machines, but I didn’t just choose mechanical
engineering to unravel how the machine’s work but use that knowledge to design new things
which can revolutionize this industry. It’s the back. Fields like MANUFACTURING,
METALLUGY, CIVIL, AEROSPACE, AUOMOBILE, ELECTRICAL engineering etc., are in
some way touched by mechanical engineering.

WHY THIS UNIVERSITY?

University of Queensland has consistently ranked alongside the top universities in the world. They are the
part of G8(Group of eight) and Universitas 21, which eliminates more than half of the universities from
my books. They are not just known for their excellent study programs but are also known for their strong
research and affiliations with other internationally renowned universities. Queensland University have
won more NATIONAL TEACHING AWARDS than any university in Australia. The campus of
Queensland University alongside their Social clubs, Sport clubs, Cultural activities, Museums are perks
which help in overall development of the student. This university has a diverse and welcoming
environment. Students from all over the world attend this renowned university.

WHY AUSTRAILIA?
Australia is known for having diversity of students. It is third before US and UK in terms of
hosting international students with easy access to every Corner of the world. Education degrees
obtained in Australia are recognized all over the world since it home to some of the best research
in the world. It has the most affordable educational system giving students opportunity to
unleash their talents and achieve their goals. Students are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week
which will help them cover their daily expenses or even a bit of their tuition. Australia is blessed
with breath taking beauty with its amazing lifestyle. Having stunning beaches, cities, snow
covered mountains, no wonder Australia was my first preference.

WHY NOT INDIA?

India has more than thousand universities but there are many drawbacks in its educational
framework which makes its my last choice for my education. They judge students on the basis of
their academic knowledge but not overall performance. Theoretical knowledge is given more
attention than practical knowledge. In India marks are important than overall development. In
spite of having world renowned institutes, the degree achieved here is not globally recognized.
Choice of subject are available for students are really limited, low career options and stability.

FUTURE PLANS
India is a growing economy and there is a lot of scope in here for mechanical engineers in both
private and government sector. There are numerous companies in India which hires as
mechanical engineer like the TATA GROUP, THE GODREJ GROUP, MAHINDRA etc. There
are a lot of large-scale projects from which I hope to gain a lot of experience which would help
me in going for projects in foreign countries as well.
