Remove all jewelry. Stand back slightly from the sink 5 so you do not contaminate your uniform or clothing. Turn the faucet on by holding a paper towel between 5 your hand and the faucet. Regulate the temperature of the water and let water flow over your hands. Discard the towel in the waste container. With your fingertips pointing down, wet your hands 5 and wrists thoroughly. Use soap to get a lather on your hands. 10 Put the palms of your hands together and rub them 10 using friction and a circular motion for 20 seconds, keeping hands lower than elbows. Put the palm of one hand on the back of the other 10 hand. Rub together several times. Repeat this after reversing position of the hands. Interlace the fingers on both hands and rub them back 10 and forth. Thoroughly clean nails (rub fingertips and thumb tip 10 against palm of opposite hand.) Rinse all surfaces of hand, wrists, fingers, keeping 10 fingertips pointing down and hands lower than elbows. Use a clean paper towel to dry hands thoroughly, from 10 tips of fingers to wrist. Discard the towel in the waste container. Use another dry towel to turn off the faucet and 10 discard in waste container. *Student does not touch inside of sink at any time. 5 TOTAL
