DAILY LESSON Teacher LORILLY H. BIGOY Learning Area SCIENCE

PLAN Dates and Quarter FIRST QUARTER
Time

I. OBJECTIVES

The learners demonstrate the understanding of current- voltage-

A. Content Standards
resistance relationship, electric power, electric energy, home
circuitry and safety in using electricity.

B. Performance
Standards
C. Learning Infer the relationship between current, voltage & resistance
Competencies/ (expressed by Ohm’s Law). S8FE-lh-30
Objectives
(Write the LC code) 1. Analyze and solve problems using the Ohm’s law.
II. CONTENT Electricity
III. LEARNING RESOURCES

Resources
IV. PROCEDURES
ELICIT
Preliminary Activity
-Prayer
-Checking of attendance

A. Reviewing previous The teacher will be raising the following questions as a review on
lesson or presenting the concepts discussed the other day. She will be randomly calling
the new lesson out students.
-Identify the founder, the symbol, unit and instrument used in
measuring the following:
1. Electric current
2. Resistance
3. Voltage
B. Establishing a purpose ENGAGE
for the lesson The following illustration will be shown and analyzed.
C. Presenting
examples/instances of
the new lesson
D. Discussing new EXPLORE
concepts and The teacher will introduce and discuss the Ohm’s law and the

person behind it. The following formula triangle will be discussed.

E. Discussing new
concepts and
practicing new skills
#2

EXPLAIN
To understand more the relationship between current, voltage &
resistance, sample problems involving the Ohm’s law will be given.
Plicker cards will be given to each student & will be used by the
teacher in scanning their answers.
1. A bulb has a current of 20A and a voltage of 100V. What is the
resistance? A. 5Ω B. 10 Ω C. 15 Ω D. 20 Ω
F. Developing mastery
(leads to Formative 2. A potential difference of 5V is applied to a 1,000Ω resistor. What
Assessment 3) current would you expect to flow?
A. 0.005A B. 0.05A C. 0.5SA D/ 5A
3. What voltage is needed to pass a current of a 1.0A through a
10,000Ω resistor?
A. 10V B. 100V C. 1,000V D. 10,000V
Main points: -Therefore, the current flowing in a circuit is directly
proportional to the applied voltage and inversely proportional to the
resistance of the circuit.
G. Finding practical ELABORATE
applications of Based on the knowledge the students gained about the
concepts and skills in
daily living relationship between current, voltage and resistance, the following
situation will be raised.

- What will happen to the number of Covid-19 cases if people do

not follow the protocols?
H. Making
generalizations and - What will happen to the number of Covid-19 cases if more
abstractions about the people are vaccinated?
lesson
 Number of Covid-19 cases as the electric current.
 Following protocols as the resistance
 Vaccines for the voltage

I. Evaluating learning EVALUATE

Direction: In the individual learning activity sheets, answer the
following using the Ohm’s law. Write your answers on the spaces
provided. 5 minutes will be given to answer the evaluation.

EXTEND
Assignment: Make an excel presentation wherein you can
J. Additional activities
automatically solve for the current, voltage and resistance, make
for application or
remediation sure to make use of the correct formulas in the Ohm’s Law. Send

 When the vaccines were made available, according to Sir Aures of RHU, one of Pastrana’s
concern was the lack of storage (freezer) for the vaccines which requires very low
temperature, what do you think is one of the factors that is needed to store vaccines like
that of the BioTech

Considering that we are now facing the Covid-19 pandemic, what do you think might have
happened if the concepts that made up electricity where not discovered? Will our scientists be able
to discover vaccines? And can we store vaccines if there is no electricity?
