6.4 Lap compression

6.4.1 Description
Structure
The lap belt (10) is guided, tensioned and driven by
six deflection pulleys.

Purpose: Lap drive

Method of operation
• The electric motor (3) drives the lap belt (10).

• The lap belt (10) drives the lap (1) at its circumference.

Purpose: Lap compression

Method of operation
• The pneumatic cylinder (4) tensions the lap belt (10) by means of the tensioner pulley (70).

• With increasing lap diameter, the lap density is varied by varying the pressure control.
Note: The pressure can be set at the operating unit.

Purpose: Lap ejection

Method of operation
• When the opener arm (30) is open, tensioner
pulley (70) lowers and the lap (1) is ejected by
the lap belt (10).

Condition: Beginning of lap

30 Start of the lap formation
The lap belt (10) is wrapped around the lap (1) and
tube (2).
