GENED4

My reflection for this our lesson about the Mathematical pattern. Patterns are things that are
repetitive, which can be found in nature as color, shape, action, or some other sequences. A rule is a
way to calculate or solve a problem. Then about the types of pattern in nature is Symmetry. Symmetry is
an exact correspondence of form and constituent configuration on opposite sides of a dividing line or
plane or about center of an axis.

Reflection of symmetry is called mirror or line symmetry. This is often termed as bilateral
symmetry as it divides the object into two (“bi” means two). The rotational symmetry is about the
smallest angle, this formation called the angle of rotation. To compute for the angle of rotation simply
divide 360. The translational symmetry is exhibited by objects which do not change its size and shape
even if it moved to another location. Three types of pattern is fractals, Spiral, Spots and Stripes. Fractals
– are never ending patterns that are self-similar across different scale. And the Spirals- are curved
patterns made by series of circular shapes revolving around a central point. The last one is Spots and
Stripes – Pattern are also exhibited in the external appearance of animals.
