2 • The OneDrive mobile interface is very intuitively designed. If you have already
looked at the training material for OneDrive Basic - advanced and
professional, you will notice that almost all functions are also available in the
OneDrive mobile app. The surface is divided into 4 segments.

• 1. On the left-hand side you can access your personal settings. You can add
new files and documents via the + symbol.

• 2. The search field that we already know from the online interface, helps us to
find files and folders in our OneDrive environment.
3
• 3. In the main section, you can see your folder tree and access all your files
directly.

• 4. in the lower section of the app are the buttons for: Start - Files - Camera -
Shared.

4
• On this page, we would like to go into some detail about the functions offered
by the plus sign. This functions can be found in the upper section 1.

• You can use the Scan function to convert new documents that you have in a
non-digital form into a digital document. OneDrive uses the camera function
of your smartphone for this purpose. Please make sure that the light and
contrast conditions for scanning a document are always optimal. Newly
scanned documents can also be edited immediately afterwards.

• With the "Upload" button, you can upload documents that you have saved
locally on your smartphone to the OneDrive Cloud. The formats that OneDrive
accepts on the PC are also accepted on the app. The first time you want to
upload a document, OneDrive will ask you whether OneDrive is allowed to
access your documents. Please confirm the question with a YES!

• The menu item "Create photo or video" allows you to create a photo or video
directly in OneDrive without having saved it locally on your smartphone. This
function can be very helpful if you have to take a lot of photos/videos during a
store check, for example, and only have limited local storage space on your
smartphone.

• You can create and expand the folder structure with the "Create a folder"
button. The new folder you create is created directly in your OneDrive
environment and is also available on all your other devices.
• In the search bar you can search for your files and folders. Here the search is
divided into two basic options.

1. search for files by name.

2. search for files by their format.

• When searching for a format, please note that the format name must be
entered in the search field. e.g. If you are looking for a picture, enter the name
*.jpg or *.gif. For a video, please use the parameter: *.mpg

• If you have found the files you can open them directly from the interface.
Sharing and collaborating on documents is one of the most important functions
in OneDrive. This feature is of course also available in the mobile version.
As in the OneDrive web version, a distinction must be made between files that
you have shared and files that have been shared with you.

Under the search bar you have the somewhat hidden option of choosing between:

Date shared: stands for files that you have shared with someone.

Shared by: stands for files that have been shared with you.
