DYN2 Brake+ALM Wiring Diagram 002

Feb 4, 2019

* Note DYN2 Outputs are 24VDC compatible

=== Brake Motor Bench Test DYN2 ===
DYN2 Servo Drive
For the brake motor control, please see servo drive
24VDC I/O +24VDC
manual section 4.6 and below testing instructions:
Power Supply Gnd JP3 Main I/O

- Set DYN2 servo drive OnPositionRange parameter to 127 PUL+ (Pin 6)

- Please perform brake motor bench test per below instructions PUL- (Pin 5)
before mounting brake motor on machine.
DIR+ (Pin 4)
* Sample 24VDC/24VDC relay for brake: AD-SSR6M12-DC-200D Dir- (Pin 3)
Controller Input INPUT
- First, test brake individually with 24VDC power supply. +5VDC (Pin 12)
Make sure 24VDC power supply for brake is independent
and not powering anything other than the motor brake.
ENA (Pin 11)
24VDC power supply for brake should be at least 1A current
270
capacity to release brake. COM
ONPOS (Pin 9)
- With nothing connected to motor, check that the brake is
engaged and motor shaft is locked.
- Connect 24VDC brake power supply to motor brake lead
or connector. The brake motor will have a label to indicate ALM (Pin 8)
the wiring for 24VDC.

Apply 24VDC power to brake and check that the brake is

released and shaft rotates without friction. When brake releases,
Brake Relay
it makes clocking sound to indicate brake solenoid has released. 24VDC Brake +24VDC +
Power Supply Gnd Contact Coil COM (Pin 7)
- On brake 24VDC power supply, use the on-board potentiometer -
to increase the voltage output to max 27~28VDC. This will make sure the
brake is fully open and is not affected by any voltage fluctuations.
Motor Brake
- Power off 24VDC power to brake and disconnect from brake.
+

- Wire the servo drive brake control BKO circuit through relay -
per servo drive manual Section 4.6. Do not connect anything
else to drive besides BKO circuit and tuning cable to PC.

- Power up servo drive. Check that brake is released by BKO

circuit by listening for clicking sound when brake is released.
- Check that motor shaft is locked by servo drive.
- Jog motor from PC using DMMDRV. Check motor rotation is normal.

- Test brake released on drive Fault. Disconnect

encoder cable from drive to trigger Lost Phase fault. Responsible dep. Technical reference Created Approved
Check that the drive has engaged brake when faulted.
