Human body is made up of countless millions of cells. Food is needed to built up new cells and replace
the worn out cells. However, the food that we take must be changed into substances that can be carried
in the blood to the places where they are needed. This process is called digestion.

The first digestive process takes place in the mouth. The food we eat is broken up into small pieces by
the action of teeth, mixed with saliva, a juice secreted by glands in the mouth. Saliva contains digestive
juice which moisten the food, so it can be swallowed easily.

From the mouth, food passes through the esophagus (the food passage) into the stomach. Here, the
food is mixed with the juices secreted by the cells in the stomach for several hours. Then the food enters
the small intestine. All the time the muscular walls of the intestine are squeezing, mixing and moving the
food onwards.

In a few hours, the food changes into acids. These are soon absorbed by the villi (microscopic branch
projections from the intestine walls) and passed into the bloodstream.

How Does Covid-19 Spread?

People in the world are shocked with the emergence of covid-19. This virus becomes a pandemic which
has contaminated people all around the world. What is Covid-19? Covid-19 is a very infectious disease
caused by a new kind of coronavirus. Is it dangerous? How can it spread to humans?

Firstly, the virus is supposed to spread primarily from person-to-person. These viruses can spread
between persons who are in contact approximately in about 6 feets.

Secondly, covid-19 can also range via respiratory dewdrops produced while an infected person coughs
or sneezes. These drops can land in the noses or mouths of persons who are nearby. Or they can feasibly
be inhaled to the lungs.

Thirdly, it is spread by any human interaction with infected objects or surfaces. It may be likely that a
person can catch up COVID-19 by touching objects devouring the virus. Then they drop the virus to their
own nose, mouth, or eyes.

How easily a virus blowout from person-to-person can vary. These viruses are highly spreadable.
Therefore, we have to be alert and keep following health protocol.

How Does Rain Happen

We all know that rain is the primary source of fresh water for most areas of the world, providing suitable
conditions for diverse ecosystems. Rain is water that descends from the sky through several processes
until the rain occurs. Do you know how does rain happens?

The phenomenon of rain is actually a water circle. The concept of a water circle includes the sun heating
the Earth’s water surface and causing the water surface to evaporate. Earth’s water includes water from
lakes, rivers, and oceans. Then, the water vapor experiences condensation and becomes condensed
vapor. Condensed vapor is formed from droplets so that when the air temperature is higher, it makes
the droplets gather, condensed, and formed into clouds. The presence of winds helps clouds move and
gather in other places that have lower temperatures. At that time, the droplets become heavier and
unstoppable and cause the droplets to fall so that there is rain.

If the droplets drop in an area with very cold temperatures, the droplets will drop as snow. However,
not all rain reaches the surface. Some evaporate while falling through dry air. This is called Virga, a
phenomenon that is often seen in hot, dry desert regions.

Interdependence is a psychosocial concept that sees closeness as the key to all relationships. It has long
been an important concept in family systems, although its application in young adulthood has not been
as well studied. But interdependence is increasingly being viewed as an alternative endpoint to maturity.
This is an important distinction, reverberating through social science, lifespan psychology, cross-cultural
studies and developmental theories. It’s also particularly germane to consider now, at a time when over
35% of 18-34 year olds in America, across all income levels still live with their parents: In Italy, courts
have found that even self-supporting adults, like their 30 year old lawyer son who brought the action,
have a right to remain under the family roof!

Interdependence may be a natural outgrowth of the boomers’ parenting style, which stressed
relatability, emotional openness, and an attempt at greater authenticity with its kids; how they feel their
happiness is more important than what they accomplish. Its key dynamic is mutuality, which is the
characteristic most associated with well-functioning households where two or more generations of
adults lives together, establishes a template for the continued coherence of the family. There’s
something in it for everyone; companionship, affection, support, help of all kinds, an antidote to
loneliness.

“Just being there to give or get a hug, especially on a bad day,” one parent reports. “Help with the top
half of the sandwich, my own mother,” says another. “I can afford to live on my own, but why should I?
Here I’m surrounded by people who love me and care about what happens to me. That’s rare in many
lives,” says a 28-year-old daughter, a teacher who lives at home “by choice, not necessity.” Many
parents, who report “a comfortable reliance” on their grown kids, report that it’s not as one-sided an
arrangement as it is often made out to be. “It is not take, take, take by any means. If they weren’t
contributing, I’d feel differently.”

For a generation that professionalized parenting to an unprecedented degree that always wanted to be
the kind of parents their kids would choose as friends even if they weren’t related it’s a win-win
situation. Interdependence is an idea whose time and place has come.

Tsunami

In Indonesia, we are already familiar with the word “Tsunami”. This natural disaster once struck and
claimed thousands of lives that occurred in Banda Aceh several years ago. Indonesia is grieving, world is
grieving. Then, what is the process for the tsunami? The following is a brief explanation of the Tsunami
process.

Tsunamis can occur when a phenomenon occurs that causes the displacement of large amounts of
water in the ocean, such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, landslides and meteors that fall to earth.
However, 90% of the causes of tsunamis are the result of underwater earthquakes.

Vertical movements that occur in the earth’s crust at the bottom of the ocean cause the seabed to be up
or down suddenly, resulting in disruption of water balance above it. The disturbance resulted in a very
large flow of sea water energy, which when they arrived at the beach, they became a large wave that
caused a tsunami.

*_Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)_*

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover
without requiring special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical
attention. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease,
diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. Anyone can
get sick with COVID-19 and become seriously ill or die at any age.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the disease and how
the virus spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by staying at least 1 metre apart from
others, wearing a properly fitted mask, and washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub
frequently. Get vaccinated when it’s your turn and follow local guidance.

The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough,
sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller
aerosols. It is important to practice respiratory etiquette, for example by coughing into a flexed elbow,
and to stay home and self-isolate until you recover if you feel unwell.

How Do Fish Breathe?

All animals breathe just like humans. How they breathe, however, varies. Breathe by inhaling oxygen
and exhaling carbon dioxide as waste. Air flows in through the human’s nose or mouth into the lungs
where oxygen is transported through the blood to the rest of the human body. Humans need air to
breathe. So, what does that mean for animals that live in the water?

Like humans, fish also need oxygen and emit carbon dioxide to survive. But using the lungs, these
creatures that live in water use organs called gills. The gills are organs located on the sides of the fish’s
head. These gills have many small blood vessels called capillaries.

When the fish opens, the water will flow over the gills. After that, the blood in the capillaries will pick up
oxygen that is soluble in water. The blood then moves through the fish’s body to provide oxygen
throughout the body, just like in humans.

All bony fish also have a bony plate called an operculum. This operculum is useful for opening and
closing to protect the gills. Breathing underwater is difficult. The air we breathe has an oxygen
concentration of 200,000 parts per million.

Whereas water only has a concentration of 4 to 8 parts per million. This means fish need to flow a lot of
water over their gills to get the amount of oxygen to survive. In addition, the gills are very useful for
extracting the oxygen needed by fish.

Breathing becomes more difficult as the oxygen concentration decreases. Low levels of oxygen
concentration make it impossible for animals to survive. Although it can occur naturally, it can also be
created by human activity.

When pollution is high, such as waste dumped into the sea, this will cause algae blooms which then die
and decompose. Furthermore, it will cause the zone to have a low oxygen concentration level of oxygen.

Fish need clean water to breathe. Similarly, humans need clean air to breathe. Humans can help these
gilled creatures to thrive by keeping their habitat free of pollutants
